New Czech EDC Gun.
I was dropping my 422 at the LGS for a repair (need an extractor), I saw this CZ 75D Compact in his showcase. Thought it would make a fine EDC gun. Bought it, got it home, and put 100 rounds through it. I even had three holsters at home that fit it perfectly.

Not my EDC, but I would have zero issues if I needed it. CZ’s are great guns, and this double stack compact would be very hard to beat, imo.
Nothing fits my hand better, nothing.

To add, if they made a similar single stack Compact they would sell them by the cargo ship load, the gun is that good.

My wish is that the decock position was further forward in the hammer arc, like a 3rd Gen S&W.

An understandable pickup. Enjoy.
We were just at our range to shoot a bit, and was chatting with the counterman, when he mentioned his favorite new carry, the PCR. He took it out, cleared it and handed it to me.
Must of taken him a half-hour to get it back, practically had to pry it from my fingers.
The owner saw my reaction and said he was ordering one for me, without obligation to buy. When it came in, I tried it and took it. Hubby got one also, after he shot mine. Happily been our flawless EDCs for several years now.

They make the omega where you can have decocker or swap to safety, but it's in the safety location.
I have the full size currently with the decocker installed.
Lots of choices with CZ.

I think the CZ-75 PCR is one of the best choices out there in a 9mm concealed carry gun.
You get an alloy frame instead of polymer, a real hammer instead of a striker, a decocker instead of a safety lever on the trigger and the ability to customize it with different stocks.
And it doesn't have mold lines, the handling qualities of a 2x4 or the need to stipple the grip frame with a soldering gun. Are you kidding me ?
You have double action from a decocked hammer for the first shot and a good crisp trigger in SA mode for follow up shots. Wouldn't you feel better by having a gun with a decocked hammer in an IWB waistband in the appendix carry position than a Glock with a round up the spout ?
If you live in a free state, you get a 15 round magazine (or actually two as a spare comes with the gun), what more do you need ? And as others who own them or have shot them have commented, they are accurate and easy to shoot well. Here's mine with the California mandated 10 round mag.

Congratulations! You will like it! Last June this appeared at my LGS and it immediately came home. Could be the best sized autoloading pistol I own. Enjoy!

My thinking is with regards to how far "cocked" the decker releases the hammer after actuation. It's more like a half-decocker and not all the way forward like a 92 or 5906.

CZ's are quality tools. A customized SP01 is one of my range toys. I found a 2075 Rami Decocker before Christmas at Cabela's for cheap. It shoots well, just is a bit small for my hand.

That's where CZ put it so that the DA pull is shorter. My SP-01 Phantom is the same way. You can lower the hammer all the way using the trigger and thumb method, but the pull is noticeably longer and heavier initially.
Much as I love shooting the CZ design, I find it too chunky for IWB on my frame.

It has been my favorite autoloading pistol since 1993. For me, no auto balances as well.

PCR
I got a pretty good deal on a (barely) used one last month. I only put a few rounds through it but was able to qualify for my ccw renewal fairly easily.
I put some thinner grips on it and I expect it to get some range time once the weather clears up. I hope you enjoy yours it seems like a great pistol.

Oh man, that looks like a great gun.
I remember when CZ-75s were unobtainable and exotic. The first one I saw was in the armory at Minot AFB where a guy who got one at a PX in Germany was storing it.
Add another one to the “gotta have” list.
