Forum opinions on the Kimber Micro 9 family of pistols?
I was wondering what the general consensus of the forum is on the Kimber Micro 9 pistols. I have never owned a Kimber, but the Micro 9 pistols look like they could fill a CCW niche.
As always, thanks in advance for your help!

I've never owned one but my brother had one for a while. I shot it a few times - sort of. It was one of the most unreliable pieces of junk I've ever seen. Not once did it ever feed and fire more than two rounds for me. He eventually got it "fixed" he said, but I would never, ever have trusted it for use as a carry piece.

Not a big fan of their micro 9's or .380's. Not a big fan of Kimber in general for a number of reasons. MIM parts for one. I have been told by many that their customer service sucks as well. I think you would be better served by a number of other choices.

I found the micro-9 to be one of the most uncomfortable pistols I’ve ever fired.

My opinion is they are overpriced for what you get. A lot of Hype, but not long on performance. They sure look good, and sometimes you get a good one, but I mostly hear about the functioning problems.

I must be the exception as I have the Ultra Carry in 45 ACP and a Micro 9 in 9MM and have never had a problem with either of them. Foe me the Micro 9 is much nicer to carry than the 45.

- I looked at them and wound up buying the SIG-Sauer P938 as giving more value. I haven't been unhappy with that decision and it's been about five years.

I had one, and never had any trouble with it, except it was so small it was hard for me to keep a grip on. It wanted to twist in my hand, so I had to keep repositioning my hand every couple of shots. It was particularly bad about it when my hands sweated even a little bit. I could have swapped the grips out I suppose, but one reason I bought the thing was I really liked the way it looked. I eventually sold it off and have now replaced it with a CSX that seems it will fit the same niche.
