buck 110 knife
About 2 months ago I bought a very tired Buck 110 folder from a pawn shop for a very small amount of money.
The original owner used what looked like a nail to inscribe his initials on it.
I called Buck asking of they could tidy that up under their Spa treatment for $6.95......they said send it in and let us have a look.
Two days a go I got a package from Buck Knves......they did NOT do anything with the old knife, instead they sent me a BRAND NEW 110!!!
Wowser!!!
What a company and what a product for the money involved.

They have my 501 and should be sending it back soon. I have had it for over 50 years and there wasn't much blade left to sharpen. For $10.00 I am getting a new blade and the spa treatment. I sent it in for the treatment some years ago, so this is the second time it has been back home.''
They are a good company.

I have Buck 110, and a slightly smaller 112.
By question is:
Does Buck make another knife smaller than the 112 with the same styling ?

Have a couple of small Buck knives (501X's) have had them about 40 years IIRC. Maybe I ought to send them in to get refurb'd.

The Buck 55 . It's styled after the 110 and is about half the size and about the same price.

Buck Knives is a great company that still makes most of their products here in the USA. A great quality product at a reasonable price.

Received a Buck 112 almost 40 years ago from a close family member, now gone. Broke the blade in two places over the years by abusing it. Sent it back to Buck last summer for a new blade.$10. I've read many comments about Buck, both good and bad. For me... I'm proud to support an American company, American workmanship and American workers.

I suppose my $10 110 could use a refurb. Had a broken tip when I got it in an Orlando bar and spent 7 years building EPCOT. Im'a keep it as it is. Joe

Nearly 40 years of use, and it's still as good as new.

The Buck 110 is just about my favorite folding knife ever made.
A classic design which lives on to this very day in multiple configurations.
I plan on getting the latest iteration soon, the Buck 110 Hunter Sport.

Someone will be along shortly to argue semantics about how technically they're not "Made in the USA" but merely " Assembled in the USA" because the materials they use such as their African woods and German steels are imported.
Also, some of their bargain-priced blades are made in China.
Of course, everything on their site is clearly marked as being "Made in the USA" or "Imported" so this isn't a secret, but certain folks like to imply that they're being sneaky about it.

I've had this Buck .112. For 47 year when I first got in the electrical trade .this tool is the best tool I have ever bought.
The o'l two dot has made me a lot of money and skun a lot of game.
The Buck family has a lot of faith in there products and it shows.

I've had my 110 since I was 18, makes it 50 years old. It's whittled enough tinder for backpacking campfires to build a house. Somewhere along the way, I lost the belt pouch for it, but found a nice one to replace it at a leather shop in Denver when I was there for business about 15 years ago. The smaller one is a 373, and yes the steel is from China, it's stamped on the backside of the flat-edge blade. That's okay, it holds a razor edge.

These are the Buck 110 variants I own in order of when they were made
Buck 110 was made in 1995. I bought it in the Ft. Carson PX and carried it on my LBE until 2003 when I got out, then it went into my Roll Away then it went to my Duty Belt until I became a Retired Career Security Guard.
Bucklite Model 422. Made in 1997. It's a replacement for a 422 I carried in the National Guard. I bought it on Ebay last year for 40 bucks and it's my daily carry more often than not.
The last two were both made in 2020.
Buck 110 LT. I bought it to celebrate my last assignment.
Buck 110 Slim Select I bought it because I always wanted a Buck with a pocket clip that I could open one handed.

Buck
A 503 that I’ve had since Christmas 1980 present from my then fiancé still my wife. Shown with my everyday watch she bought me the same Christmas still runs like a champ with a new battery once a year.

Curious they would send you a new one. Did someone at the factory get attached to the old one ? What if it had sentimental value?
Had mine for I forget how long, even forget where and when I got it. But it is an old friend.

Years ago, during my Army career, I was given a Buck 110 as the honor graduate from a senior NCO course. It has my regiment's crest inlaid into the left side scale. I've still got it somewhere around here.

Is there a 110 in the classic style that isn't as thick? I loved my KaBar 1189 because it was thinner, but the re-released 1189, now the 3189 isn't as nice.

Before they moved from California I lived a few blocks from their facility in El Cajon. Every so often they would have a sale for the locals and move out some of their excess inventory. The prices were really good and the product first rate. They weren't moving out junk but first line merchandise. The Company was also very involved in the community. I was very involved in Ducks Unlimited in those days and they were very supportive of our annual event. Great company and family.
Their departure was a big loss to our City, but understand why they did it.

I've a Buck 110 I bought in 1977. Think that makes it roughly 45 years old. Has a huge amount of miles on it. Does buck still sell the belt mounted sheath for it. Mine is held together with sail makers thread. Frank

On the form you fill out, there is a question about sentimental value.

I have always loved Buck knives I carry daily Bucks a bantam 264 and a 110 also a small case knife for cutting steaks. yes I use my knife at resturants not the dull ones they give you. I bought a Buck 2 blade small folder in 1984 in basic training to open the MREs I lost it at FT Hood over a year later.

The ebony is clearly stated Madagascar. I would prefer walnut and they have used different woods

Bucks👍🏻
When I found out Buck made drop points I sold many of my other knives to invest. Bantams for the pocket 110s and 112s for the belt

Nice pics guys. Buck 110-112 sure are a popular model. My Buck #249 Alpha folder not as fancy but makes for a great skinner-field knife with the rubber grips. Believe it is discontinued.

I found a Buck folder in a toolbox when I was helping my sister move . It's in good shape except for a small ripple in the blade tip . That's the best way I know to describe it . I may see if Buck can do anything with it .

Unfortunately no, there's the Buck 110 Slim and Slim Pro, but they're made with GFN, G10, and Micarta handles with no bolsters.
There's also the new Buck 110 Hunter Sport, which is substantially lighter than the standard 110 due to Aluminum bolsters in place of Brass, but the thickness is exactly the same.
There were a few discontinued variants of the 110 which were thinner as well like the Bucklite 426 and Buck 560 Total Titanium, but neither were patterned after the 110's handle.

I'm not 100% certain, I just know that when I attempted to search online for where Buck was getting their 420HC, Germany kept coming up.

I've got a Buck 110 I bought at the PX on Fort Campbell sometime in 1971 or 72. One of the earlier ones, before they rounded the edges on the bolsters. It's field dressed a bunch of whitetails. My other hunting knife is old and discontinued Buck 321. It's a folding knife with a slim 3 inch muskrat blade and a guthook. It fits nicely in my pocket and makes quick work of dove, quail, and the occasional grouse.
Buck knives may not have the cachet of some of the fancier and trendier makers, but they do what I need and I don't have to feel guilty about what I paid for them.

no sentimental value to me, I bought it in a pawn shop for $5.00.
I was stunned when Buck sent out a brand new one.
No the original was not returned....I don't care about it.

Got mine on my 15th birthday in 1978. It was a constant companion till 1981 when I left for Marine Corps boot camp. I wore it to school in rural Ohio every day. They made us all put our knives in our wall lockers when we had a visit from Walter Mondale. Could you imagine kids with knives in schools today! I came across it a few years back at my parents home and now it is back with me where it belongs.

Carried a 110 in SEA in my Survival vest.
Then lost it during Deer hunt.
I do have another one, but it’s not the same!

Upon becoming Eagle Scouts my brother gave each of my sons a Buck 110 engraved with the date etc.A few years ago one of them broke the tip trying to split a pelvic bone field dressing a deer.He was sick over that.I sent it to Buck, they replaced the blade and returned the origional 110 back to us.We had to have a part re engraved but was still the same knife he was given by my brother.Great knife, great company.

Several years ago. I had Buck make Eagle Scout knives for several of my friends and myself. I had the date I became an Eagle and my dad's name engraved on it as he was the Scout Master.
It is in the cabinet and will never be used, but past down.

One of my favorite knives: the Buck 110.
I agree with others here. Buck has superlative CS!

I had one I dropped on a rock while fishing nearby Black Creek. It broke the handle on one side. I sent it in to see if they could fix it and they sent me a new knife.
