I am a sucker for a nice MKI or MKII,

and even more so if they're silenced

Now I found this beautiful 1990 MKII with an integral LEI (Law Enforcement Intl) silencer

Here is an article about LEI

The silenced pair. I haven't tried it yet but I'm looking forward to the comparison

Sweet.
I like the looks of the continuous diameter cans like on your blued one when we are talking integrally suppressed, but with the extra gas volume that the newer looks like it might have it will probably be the quieter one

The first Mk-II I suppressed, I used an external can and Ghost Threaded the barrel

The can I built has interchangeable back ends, one for the MK-II and a standard 1/2x28

I made the can larger than necessary because I was contemplating using it on a 22 SMG. It has been two decades and I still have not gotten around to making an adapter for that SMG

One of the things I really like about the MK-II is that you can hold the bolt closed with your thumb, this keeps the action from cycling. Now you have made your pistol even quieter :)

What can is on the SS MK? Innovative Arms does great integral cans on Ruger MK's, and SW 15-22's. The LEI link would not open for me. I would love to "hear" the results of the 2 cans. I am betting on the integral being quieter from my experience. And as Colt SAA stated a thumb on the bolt will make it just that much quieter without the action noise, much like the SW 39 " Hush Puppy" Be Safe,

Ruger 22/45

Always loved the AWC amphibians! Prefer removable/serviceable cans for .22's though. Meprolight MH3 solves the lack of front sight issue. Super quiet(SRT) and reliable with familiar 1911 controls. All good...

Keep fighting the Good fight...

Fred

Hi Classic12,
So, how does it work getting something like that in Switzerland?
Most states in the US allow for suppressors now, but there is still a lengthy and expensive Federal application process to go through.

OP is it a complicated process to get a "silencieux" in Switzerland? Or Europe in general?

Firearms laws used to be decided by each state and some states sold them over the counter without any paperwork

That's how I got my first one, a B&T for my Beretta 92F in a neighbouring state

However in 1999 it was all harmonised under a single federal law and suppressors now need a license to purchase them. Still a fairly simple process with 2 to 4 weeks wait

I believe they are still sold freely in France, where gun laws are much stricter than in Switzerland

I believe it's a (very well) home made device. And it's very quiet
