My mom has allowed me to start taking possession of my late father's firearms. I'll continue to post them in this section as I get them.
First up is one that I never knew dad had....this very cool Stevens Favorite No. 17 in .22 LR, complete with carrying bag. Interesting single shot rifle, but it's missing the breech block screw, which I will try to find. Otherwise, it looks like it will function just fine once this part is (hopefully) located.

That's a beautiful Favorite. He really looked after it. Check Wisners Gun Parts for the missing screw. They specialize in these old Stevens.

Also, Jack First Gun Parts has the breech block screws and a lot of other parts for your rifle. That rifle looks to be in great shape. Congratulations on a fine gun. They're a lot of fun to shoot.

Very nice looking rifle. However, I would remind you to always wear eye protection when shooting it. I'm not sure if the Stevens Favorite 22's had recessed breaches, but I know for a fact that Stevens Crackshot rifles did not have that feature. Consequently, pierced primer and case head separation events can be a problem. Stay safe. -S2

Wagwan and Ricsen......I tried to do some research on who would have the breech block screw. I had not heard of Wisners, but did try Jack First, who seemed to have a decent supply of these screws. The only problem I may be facing is that there apparently were at least a handful of different variations of the Favorite, according to their parts description, and thus may be subtle differences in the screw design.

It looks like the Wisner's site is very descriptive on model and breech screw variations and I could likely get the one I need. Thank you for the reference!
