THE BEST 22LR RIFLE I HAVE EVER SHOT IN MY LIFE!

I have a CZ 452 American (same rifle as the OP's 453 except no set trigger) with a very nice little Leupold 4x rimfire scope. That is my favorite small game/general purpose .22 rifle. It is followed closely by a Winchester 75 Sporter with a Lyman aperture sight. Both are wonderful rifles!

Us poor boys had to pick up the Chinese JW 15 which is a fairly decent copy of the CZ and will cost about two hundred bucks. I found one at a flea market, missing the magazine and If I remember right I paid $75.00 for it. My favorite critter getter is a Winchester model 75 with Lyman sights. The local squirrels just surrender and come crawl in my bag, when I step out on the porch with that one. In my old age, I had to get a larger diopter for the sight, but you does what ya's gotta does.

Funny you mention the Chinese copy of the BRNO / CZ bolt action design. I picked one up years ago, maybe 1984, for something like $65 brand new. Mounted a cheap scope, and found out it had an excellent trigger, and was almost as accurate as my real CZ's. I eventually gifted it to the son of a guy I knew who was a little $$ short, but his son wanted to take up bunny and squirrel hunting, so... His son now hunts with it, so a great $65 investment.

I have a Winchester Model 75 as well, and need to shoot it. Can't say I am thrilled with the factory trigger, but believe there are solutions.

My favorite is this Marlin Model 57. Short throw lever. Dad gave it to me on my birthday in 1960. I'm 75 now. Ran 50 rounds through it this morning. It is still fun and accurate.

I also inherited my Dad's Marlin Model 39a vintage 1940. Also a wonderful shooter.

Savage Aushutz Model 54. But I gotta tell ya, my 77/22 boat paddle with a trigger worked over by Clark years ago is pretty sweet!!!!

Same here, Absolutely love my 37!

I shoot it regularly in the local 50 yard benchrest match. Just a beautiful, old school work of art.
