I like Herrett's, especially their Jordan Trooper model. Last spring I got a set for my 1958 Colt DS (hard chromed and tuned — I've posted about it before.)

I also have a set of Persinger ivories and a Tyler-T for it, which is more attractive, perhaps, to look at, and better for concealment. But, I gotta say, with my large hands the Herrett's do provide a better grip:

These are my third set. I also have them on my 640-1 and my Colt Three Fifty-Seven:

Your bookshelf looks like mine Onomea. I found these Jordan Troopers in one of those boxes of assorted used items at a gun store about seven or eight years ago priced at $10. They had a few chips in the varnish from ejected shells, an easy fix. Not long after that I bought a Model 19-3 to go with the stocks.

I have tried Jordan Troopers for N frames and even though I have large hands I found the enclosed backstrap added too much reach and got rid of them.

I’ve always liked the retro look of Herretts, especially those with wrap around checkering. I have ‘em on a 4” Python and just picked up a set for short grip D frame. Not sure if I’ll put ‘em on a 3Rd issue DS of 2.5” DB

Onomea,
I thought those grips looked like a large fistful, until I saw them disappear in your hand!
Many years ago, Herrett used to have you trace an outline of your shooting hand and they'd size the grip accordingly. I have a set of those on my 14-3 I used for years in a police bullseye league. They not only fit my hand, but set my thumb back so I could cock the hammer without loosening my grip. They worked just as they were supposed to.
It's impressive how much a proper set of grips enhance shooting ability.

ameridaddy, they're still doing the hand print outline. But they have given up their FFL, so if they don't have a model for your gun you're out of luck. And even if they do have your model, you may need to send back for adjustment. This happened with my latest grips for my DS. They're good about staying with you until it's right.

I can’t find revolver grips (esp shooting stars) on their website.
Have they been discontinued?
Looks like a new website, but here are some revolver grips. Maybe revos are all now custom? (Yeah, they all used to be custom.) Customs - Herrett's Stocks Dee was still there as of last spring. I'd call 'em up and ask about the Shooting Stars.

Some of the Herrett's were just production grips that if lucky might still be found in older gun stores or perhaps at a gun show.
The ones on the web site are the custom line. There's no connection between them aside from being a Herrett's product.
I have the ptoduction SHooting Star on one of my model 10 revolvers.

50 years ago I bought my first set of Herett's to put on a Ruger Revolver, replacing the factories. My grip was much improved, as was felt recoil and accuracy. I still have a warm spot for Herrett's today.

I would really like to have a set for my Mdl 19 rb... that colt is really nice with them on it.

These custom Herretts are made to fit my Dad’s hand and his 38/44 Oudoorsman. This photo is part of my display at the 2022 Symposium. Enjoy.
