Great shotgun and a John Browning design ,which Remington made and was the Model -17. When the patents ended Ithaca begin making them and Called them the M-37. Remington only made them in 20ga, but Ithaca made the design in 12ga and 16 ga. as well as the 20ga. I hunted many grouse ,deer and turkey ,rabbits with the M37 as well as the Remington M-17. Great shotguns.

Beauty!
My favorite pump gun and my favorite era and wood configuration at that.
I have a 16ga just like it.

I bought a Model 37 20 gauge new about fifty years ago. I'm not much of a shotgun enthusiast, but this one would likely be the last to go. I've also had some limited experience with the matte-finished short-barreled 12 ga. 37s. All good guns.

I have a 12 gauge Ithaca 37 from way back. I thought that it was svelte, but I must say that 20 gauge drips elegance. I can just imagine how relatively quiet it is with light field loads and how easy carrying it must be. I don't think there is anything made today that even comes close in any category.

Although the Ithaca Gun Company made excellent Model 37’s for decades, Ithaca collectors are especially fond of the pre-war guns (1937-1941). The stock of a pre-war 37 is recognized by the checkering that comes to a point behind the neck of the stock.

Gorgeous! I've always wanted an Ithaca Model 37, but could never find one that I liked at a price that I was comfortable spending.

WOW! Looks like it was bought and then just put away. Sweet.

Awesome! That gun screams quality. Love the bluing and wood to metal fit. Great craftsmanship back then. pleasure to see.
