I wanna see some 100 year old guns!
I put this in the “other brands” sub forum because I want to see all brands (including S&W of course). But show us your favorite 100 year old gun - revolver, semi auto, rifle, whatever.
Personally, this is not in my wheelhouse but I do have a fascination with these old gems. Here’s my 1920 Colt (pre) Woodsman that I picked up recently for a bargain $350. Since then, I’ve put a few hundred can killing rounds thru it and enjoy the heck out of it! Just got a new/old Heiser for it to ride around in too (thanks Bill!) ….

I have more 100+ y/o guns than I care to mention, but this 7.5" Triple Lock Target is probably my favorite of them. A few Marlin long guns run close behind.

Here's a Colt Frontier Six Shooter that shipped the Copper Queen Mercantile, Bisbee, Arizona in 1916.

I just got this a couple months or so back and showed it then, but I’m not doing anything but Pirates n Dodgers. If the stocks came with the gun it’s from 1881-2, but it shoots.

I have a couple, but the Colt New Service in this photo is my favorite. It dates to 1916 and began life as a .455 Ely. Somewhere along the way, it was rechambered to .45 Colt, and belonged to someone in our own navy. The inside of one of the panels is marked, "Harrelson, R.L. USN". It's my only handgun with stag stocks.
Since the collector value was gone, I had the barrel cut to 2.50". I just love snubbies!

I am lucky enough to have two in my collection. They both see regular use.
August 1918 Eddystone and September 1918 for the S&W.

These are both from 1917. I have an even older S&W inbound but not in-hand quite yet.

as for S&W's, I have (& had) 1917's.
New Century has taken over that "Favorite" status
A 5" original finish in .44 Special. Grips later but came with it,,
My Grandson will have a nice collection

These Over 140 Years Old…..
The oldest gun in my meager collection, and maybe favorite too, is this Colt Peacemaker shipped on January 1, 1875…..
Followed closely by this 1st Model Schofield Wells Fargo originally shipped on July 12, 1875…..
And then this 2nd Model Schofield shipped in 1876…..
And finally this Etched Panel Colt Frontier Six Shooter shipped on March 11, 1880…..

Over a century of use...some harder than others
5 of mine well over a hundred...some sold and gone, some still here.
Thinking maybe...just maybe...the 32-20 WCF could be a favorite but sure won't know until ammo becomes available someday...if ever.
22-32 HFT shipped 1915
32-20 HE shipped 1921
1888 1st Model hammerless shipped 1888
Model 1899 (US Army) shipped 1901
Colt Model 1903 shipped 1911

Similar tale for me Jim.
Mrs Magger held this 1917 Model M in 32, declared it hers, and that was that. I'm firmly a believer in "Happy Wife, Happy Life" and a nice pistol is a small price to pay.
The upside is I got "mine" back in the form of a 1924 380 soon after. 🙂
These both get shot pretty regularly, they run like scalded cats, even with the original magazines.

I have several but here are three. This Single Action Army .45 shipped in November 1882. Looks like it “rode the range” for a good while. The next two are each .32-20’s. The 1873 rifle is from 1892 and the Colt was made in 1904. They’re both great fun to shoot.

Here's another one that's a bit unusual. This is a British Lee-Speed rifle, .303 British, made in about 1910.

This is a really cool thread. I have many .22 rifles over a hundred and a couple S&W revolvers including my Grandfather's First model .32 hand ejector. Here is my favorite, a Winchester model 1890 in .22LR. It was produced in 1922 and looks near new. I looked a long time for this rifle.

The bottom rifle in this picture is a Winchester model 1899 single shot in .22 Short, Long, Extra Long. It is the only bolt action .22 Winchester designed by John Browning. After the 1900 series were Winchester improvements based on Browning's patent. Notice the round trigger guard, after 1900 all were metal pistol grips except the model 58 on the top.

I am having a hard time getting a definitive ID on an old musket. It appears to be the India Pattern version of the Brown Bess. It was above the mantle of the farm house my grandparents bought in the late 1930s. The barrel is shorter than a standard Brown Bess, but the side plates and lock are fancier than India Pattern rifles I’ve found. There is a Tower of London stamp on the right side plate. The lock still works.
(Forgive me for the lousy pics - this is what I have at the moment)
My uncle gave me a Springfield 1870 Navy Rolling Block rifle, not to be confused with a trapdoor. It came from his father (my grandfather) who was born in Colorado Springs in the early 1890s. “How did it get out there?” he asked me after I relayed some preliminary research to him. Well Uncle Bill I’m betting that the 50-70 cartridge put down buffalo 🦬 just fine! The Navy accepted 10,000 of these and this has the acceptance stamp (Navy rejected the first 10,000). However, this appears to be the Marine variant. I can’t find out how many of those there were but not many.
Here are a couple of pics of both guns:
By the way, the Remington rolling block action is really interesting to me. Dead simple but really strong.

If you ever want to sell that, do let me know. My maternal grandfather worked in the mines in Bisbee in that year, and my mother turned 4 in Bisbee in 1916!

It's a bit over 100 years old and was refinished and re-barreled in 357 Magnum by Winchester somewhere in the 1950's but it is a genuine Winchester 1892 with a receiver dating to 1904.

Oh! I forgot a 1915 Colt Officers Model Target 2nd Issue:
The Colt factory letter confirms that it shipped with the custom 7-1/2” barrel to a shop in Portland, Maine. I felt it was my duty to bring it back home.

I am photo deficient, but I do have six (6) over 100 years, which surprised me.
