Been off the board for a good bit but I've had the weekend to catch up. Unsure if anyone has posted this product yet? It was released a few months back by Fermin Garza. It is a great upgrade for Blackhawk revolvers and those of us with aging eyes.

I recently bought a NM Blackhawk in .41 Magnum and was speaking with Mr. Garza about doing some cylinder throat correction to improve accuracy with lead bullets, and he mentioned his rear sight blades were ready to be released. I ordered one, and it's a very worthwhile upgrade.

Installation is as easy as removing the original windage screw and blade and replacing with the upgraded part. Very clear instructions are included along with an upgraded spring. The upgraded blade also has a set screw to lock down your windage adjustment after zeroing.

The new sight picture is far better than the original and a real improvement for me. I ordered the #7 rear sight. It's manufactured in a myriad of configurations - different notch profiles, white or non-outlined, grooves, etc. and compatible with different front sight heights. Fermin was a big help in determining the best solution. These blades will also fit other Ruger models that use the same pattern sight.

I've ran a few hundred rounds through this Ruger, and remembered how much fun you can have with single actions. Had my machinist buddy cut a Bisley hammer to fit, and installed a Belt Mountain cylinder pin and pin latch. Found a set of wood grips in the junk box at the gun shop to finish it up.

Really enjoy touching off those hot loads with 2400. As soon as my Barranti holster shows up I'll be set around the farm.

Rear sight a nice addition. I have a newer Ruger Convertible in 45 Colt/ A.C.P. Love shooting the acp rounds {also Colt} Did not change sights at all, but stocks on it did not work for me. Bob

Looks similar to the one made by Hamilton Bowen which I have on My Linebaugh. Whole lot better than the original Ruger sight.

Outside of using the existing sight mechanism it is very similar to the Bowen. Unfortunately, Bowen has been out of stock/sold out for over a year now. This alternative is also a bit less money, and you don't have to remove the sometimes pesky sight cross pin to replace. Best I recall Bowen's sight doesn't have the set screw feature, but I'm unsure how necessary it is for most applications.

Nice looking Blackhawk and replacement rear sight blade .
A question on the replacement rear sight . I did go to their website but could not find an answer ....my Old Model Blackhawk shoots high even with the rear sight bottomed out .
I notice this company offers a low profile replacement but is it just a lower profile blade or does it actually sit/adjust lower than the Ruger OEM ?
I realize you probably don't know and that I should just probably call the company but just thought I'd ask.

Hello Empe-

Unsure about the exact fix for your OM. The #7 blade I chose is available for front sight heights of .440, .415, .390, .365, and .340. I'm sure one or the other of those combinations could be utilized to improve your range of adjustment, but I'm definitely the wrong guy to ask!

I'm sure Fermin knows the answer off the top of his head. Maybe the range of available options I posted might be of help? I had to call since I was clueless, and the one he sent me worked perfectly.

HTH, Burney
