Just took delivery of this beauty: Andy Horvath Ruger Blackhawk in 45 Colt.
Complete custom, front to back, and looks nearly unfired.
I'll do a complete write up of the details and customization done by Mr. Horvath, after I have taken it to the range and have some rounds under my belt with this beauty.

Andy lives about 35 minutes from me, way too close. I have 4 custom .32 S&W from him. Did he have it 3 months as usual?? He has done work on other Smith’s for me also correcting problems. Very nice person with very few words. I actually have his phone number on my cell phone contacts, scary!! Hamilton Bowen is referring people to Andy to work on S&W’s, Bowen won’t work on Smith’s anymore.

Had a few barrels cut by Andy also to uncommon lengths also . One last project may be a 17-5 6” cut to 5”. That would be a cool revolver, Larry

He did a nice job on your Ruger, looks fantastic. Let us know how it shoots, Larry

Andy is one of those hidden gems in the revolver gunsmith world. When I had him build my Ruger Blackhawk L'il Gunn in 41 Special with a a model 57 barrel, his lead times were about 6-8 months. As word of his work got out, those have extended to around 2 years but his work is well worth the wait.

This is the L'il Gun as he finished it. I've since fit a couple of different grip frames to the gun just so I can change the look but it is still my most carried gun when I saddle up and head for the hills on the mule.

Looks very nice . I can't say that I've ever heard of Andy Horvath before now ...what exactly was done to the Blackhawk ?

4" barrel
Custom front sight
color case hardened frame
deep blue finish
steel grip frame, round butt
steel ejector rod housing
action job
hand checkering on hammer
hand checkering on ejector rod head
grips custom fit to rounded frame
custom knurled cylinder base pin

Phew, I think that covers it? Ha, the Blackhawk already had the custom work done when I bought it from Karl at KGB Customs.

The serial number dates to a 1990 manufacture date, but I am not sure when Mr Horvath worked his magic. The revolver appears basically as new.... which I intend to get it dirty very soon.

I have an inbound Simply Rugged Cattleman holster (Black leather, OWB) and will carry this often during woods walks and hiking.
