Default Sig P229-1 finish problem

I own a Sig P229-1 9mm and the slide and right hand side of the frame are frosting or showing a gray tint.....

As per Sigs suggestion I applied gun oil to it and let it set for three days and the frosting is still there.

Has anyone else had a 229 finish problem? If so, what did YOU do to treat it?

Randy

PS. I think they will have me return it under a warranty claim.....
