Just purchased this 12g from my neighbor.
He approached me last week and asked me if I was interested in the shotgun. I naturally said yes. We agreed to a price.
He said he was hoping I said yes.
He really wants to pass this gun down to me.
His daughter is not interested in it.
He expressed how he just loves the way I am raising my kids, and he wants me to pass it down to my kids.

Thanks Mike Smith!

I have an LT-20 that is my go-to dove gun. Great shooter!

I had a childhood friend who was a trap-shooting phenom. In 1972 he missed the first day of our freshman year in high school because he was shooting at the Grand Nationals. He shot a Rem. 1100 his whole life and swore by it. Nice buy!

While I have never owned one, I have shot hundreds of clays with a few of them over the years. They are great guns! The only suggestion I'd give you is to have an extra O ring or two on hand. If you loose it or break one, the gun is out of commission. Other than that - pretty bullet proof SG and a pleasure to shoot! BTW, the O Rings are very reasonable!

Nice gun!

This might get me a "wag of the finger" from bird hunters, but I'm okay with that!

One of my "grail guns" was an 1100 in a HD configuration. This originally had a 30" barrel, but since I've never been a bird hunter, it didn't bother me to trim it to what I wanted. Then I added a mag extension, and it turned into exactly what I'd been picturing for years:

Shot 'em all my life. Great guns..the O rings are terribly priced and hard to find now...take the O ring off. Go to the local John deer dealer...tell them you need 4 of the same sized hydraulic O rings...25 cents each...instead of 6 dollars...Oh no WD 40...at one time I had 54 1100s. Shot them all

Nice 1100 HD gun. Is that a 10 shot mag ext. I used to have one like that. Gave it to my daughter to use as a slug gun for deer. They get a little front end heavy full of slugs. 42 shots 41 deer. She had to shoot one twice

In Ohio, we had a Slug & Muzzle loader only season for as long as anyone can remember. Then the deer population became so overpopulated, and the Legislature decided handguns were not so evil for deer hunting, than a few years ago they added straight wall rifle to the mix.

I hear young men in the gun shops saying "You can't effectively kill deer with anything less than a 300 Wizz Bang Magnum!" I'd like for them to meet your daughter!

Best friend had an old 16-gauge SxS, Bought a 5 pack of slugs. One so he knew where each barrel shot and over the nex three years 3 dead deer!

One of the big name hardware chain stores normally has/had all sorts of O rings in stock. Look for those slide out boxes with the cover on them, also some stock gun screws, but you got to look carefully.

Sorry I do not remember the name of the hardware store chain, I bought a bunch of Os years back. I shot NSSA 4 gauge and have replaced many Os over the years!

My favorite too. Lucky you got it. Been using my TB grade 1100 for trap shooting for years. New 1100s will be around $1100 from Rem-Arms when available.

Great shotgun that has kept its value over the years. I've been looking for a LH model for some time now for doubles and 12 gauge skeet events.

54?? That might be considered a bit much. :D

I used to see a lot of them on the trap line, and I always did my best not to be near one. Back then, most people just let the shells fly, which you have to do in doubles. It is an aggravation for sure that is not needed in competition. They should have their own squads. Skeet is OK.

A lot of guys carried coffee cans with parts in them. Back in the day when Remington had a real presence in the clay target world the Remington guys were at big shoots and local shoots with a tent and in the name of good will they would rebuild an 1100 on the spot for you, for free. You could also bring it to the Remington Lordship club and get free on the spot service.

What a shame, the guys are gone now, Remington is all but gone, and so is the Lordship club.
