Default Hand forged bowie

My dad and I have a blacksmith shop setup where we like to go tinker on free weekends. We do a lot of general smith work, hinges, fire place sets, fixing farm equipment, but from time to time we like to do a knife or two. This is a bowie I made back in the winter. The steel is 1084, it started out 2.5" wide. Blade width is approximately 3", blade length is a bit over 12", spine is .25 thick, the handle is oak with brass fittings and a mild steel hand forged guard. Its not beautiful by any means, but it has a good heat treat and makes a fantastic chopper and backwoods knife that will hold an edge and take a beating.

Got something like that from Alf's Blacksmith in Buena Vista, CO. He was on an episode of Forged in Fire. A little rough but, great heft.
