Default Fold up pocket gun

Does anyone have one of those Standard Manufacturing folding pocket guns? It shoots 22 mag and long rifle if you get the LR “cylinder” for it. They list for around $400. It opens similar to a switch blade knife. I’ve seen these around, in pictures, but never in the wild. I’m on a strict no more gun purchase diet, but these look too cool to pass up. If ya want to go all techno, they also sell a holster for it.
If anyone has one or has a friend who has one, I’d like to get some personal info on them.Thank yinz in advance.

I handled one about 2 years ago. While I like derringers and pocket pistols, this is a slow to operate gun!

The reason you don't/won't see them in many stores, is the mark up is only about $25 to MSRP! unless you buy 10! then it was about $50 Lots of investment for a novelty at little profit! Maybe they will get hungry and release some at a lower wholesale, or pick them up after the bankruptcy close out.

The store I saw it at had picked up 4 at the IPO, sold one and was trying to unload the other 3 two months ago.

Thanks, Ivan. I don’t need one!

If it’s the one I saw, I’ll pass!
I’ll just chug along with the small handguns I already own.

I've got a NAA Mini-22 with a folding grip, that's about the same thing. Mine is in 22 LR, has a 1 7/8" barrel, and has a belt buckle that goes with it. The buckle stays in the safe. I put the folding grip on the revolver and it folds up like a pocket knife and flips open easily. Folded it fits in the palm of my hand. I carry it in a little nylon pouch that I got to carry 22 ammo when squirrel hunting many years ago. Little gun drops right in. It's just a tad too big for the watch pocket on my jeans.

I can stay on the paper with it at 5 yards, which is better than I expected. The trigger isn't much, and the sights are worse, but I have one specific job I wanted it for, and it seems it would do that if ever called on.

Snapped a couple of not really good pictures with my phone.

Oh, there is a belt/pocket clip on the other side of the grip.

They call it the Switch-gun. I have a friend who owns one and Ive shot it. Well made and is accurate enough under 15 feet. Pain to reload as you have to remove the cylinder and poke out the empties. I prefer the Sidewinder by NAA. Top break and it lifts the cases out for easy reloads. 5 rounds of 22 Magnum. Lots of muzzle flash

In general, 9mm or 38 spl. is about the smallest I'll go for SD. While .380 has made a big comeback (mostly because of the size & light weight of the guns that can shoot it) I would not use one for SD unless give no choice in the matter.

A tiny .22LR (2 or 5 shots) that you need to unfold is IMO inadequate, underpowered, takes too much valuable time when needed and a possible false sense of security. Yes, better than nothing, but for most of us a Sig P365, SA Hellcat, FN Reflex, or Chief's Spl. would be a much better option.

As someone that survived a gunfight during my career I agree completely. All I had time to do was shoot back and it was all over in seconds. My EDC in retirement is a light J Frame or LCP if deep concealment is a concern.
