The new Ruger RXM 9mm
Ruger announced their new gun - basically a Glock 19, but with a MagPul grip frame and already cut for optics and with high profile sights. The big difference is the “serialized chassis” - the little fire control gizmo is the gun, the rest you can buy online.
I have a Glock 19 already, but at a probable street price under 4 bills, this might be tempting.

You must have meant another plastic 9mm pistol.

I like the idea of Glock magazine compatibility combined with a more 1911 style grip. The undercut trigger guard is a nice feature. Fitment in Glock 19 holsters is big plus.

"If you can't beat 'em, join 'em" was my first thought seeing the announcement. With a more vertical grip angle than a G19, looks like a winner.

And its a Guck-ish looking 9mm . Nooo interest here even for 299 dollars. Rugers have not been on a might buy list for some 25 years .

Exactly, no difference than a S&W Sigma, PSA Dagger, Beretta APX, etc…..

When I shoot some decent targets, I'll show you how the Slovenians build a non-Glock, Glock 17. I'm waiting on a stronger recoil spring.

Handled it today, and it felt great. More natural, 1911-ish 17 degree grip. No backstrap hump. MUCH better trigger than a stock G19. Great sights, with a night-dot front, and serrated rear.
If I were a newb, I'd definitely buy it over a G19. I'm not a newb, and I'd still buy it over a G19 for the feature-set. Afterall, Ruger is behind it.

Handled one today at my buddies gun shop. I’m impressed. Almost impressed enough to replace my G19.
I have a sizable investment in my Glock so I don’t think so.
Besides it’s new. I’ll wait a while and see how it does.

The big bonus might be the support Ruger offers over the “others” like it.

I don't see a reason to rush out and buy one. To me the gold standard for reliability and utility is my Glock 19 Gen 4.

I wish them well, and that it’s reliable and accurate. They’ll sell like hotcakes.

That new grip angle will titillate those 1911 shooters who have trouble shooting Glocks because they can't seem to shoot worth a flip unless they have just the right grip angle and just the right trigger pull.

I handled one today at the local big box sporting goods store.
Nice fit in my medium size hand, and very "pointable" with the sights lining up perfectly when I stuck it out in front of me one-handed. I believe the straight backstrap (versus the Glock "hump") is the reason.
I think the front night sight is a nice addition; always wanted that on my Glock 19 but didn't want to fool with adding it.
Store only had the gray frame model, will probably get one with the black frame when available.

Hard to beat the support Glock offers their owners. My thirty year old Gen 2 model 19 was completely refurbished by Glock recently. I think all internal parts were replaced except the barrel. I sent in five older magazines with the gun and they were replaced with five new ones. My cost? Shipping the gun to Glock. They paid the return shipping. Does any other company beat them?

Ruger/Magpul took the best of Glock and the SIG P320. Something new to keep an eye on. If Glock had done this they might have captured the military contract.

Metal rear and fiber optic front sight, flat faced trigger, under cut trigger guard, along with all the fore mentioned attributes
For $200 less and made 100% in America…..makes it a winner IMO.

I took a look at the pistol at a local shop yesterday. It felt good in my hand and I thought the sights were great.
Trigger pull was, IMHO, better than Glock's.
I've owned 2 Glock 19s but never could get to like them. Traded them away.
If I were in the market for another 9mm, I'd think about this new Ruger pistol. I'd like it even more if it had an external safety but that's just my preference.
The shop's price for the RXM was $439.

I guess most of the folks here prefer the sights that come on it instead of the optional reflex sights that this pistol is cut for straight out of the box.
