I think I'd rather lay my hand on a table and smash it with a two-pound sledgehammer.

With any full factory loads? Maybe with a longer barrel...fore-end...butt stock with recoil pad...I think they call that a rifle.

Totally useless. It’s hard to improve on a good J Frame anyway.

28 oz! Beefy!
I think it would be handy, if, say, you'd had a few drinks and were sound asleep, unperturbed by any nearby noises, in a tent in Alaska, or the Kennai Penninsula, and suddenly awoke to find a brown bear and/or grizzly, mouth agape, prepared to chomp down upon you, and... you had this 45.70 derringer in your hand, and, the presence of mind to, quickly, thrust your hand deep into the throat of the bear and pull the trigger.
I mean, bye-bye hand, and maybe most of the arm, whether by derringer or bear, but, I am guessing, in that case, you might escape with your life, if not your hand.
(Please post a video if anyone tries this.)

Check out videos by "Kentucky Ballistics" on line. He shoots all kinds of hand cannons and rifles and is an accomplished shooter. It's wacky stuff for sure, kind of like Hickok45 on steroids and crack.

I had the pleasure(?) of shooting a Thompson Contender in 45-70. It had a 14" barrel, and weighed maybe 4 lbs, but the recoil was such that you couldn't hold it on target. The after shot position was nearly with hand straight up over your head. I thought I could get a better grip on it and took a 2nd shot. That was enough, too much for me.

I’ll wait until they bring one out chambered for the .600 Nitro Express. I remember seeing a picture of a .45-70 revolver, but no details about it. It had a very ungainly appearance.

I fail to see the purpose in building such a thing for commercial production. Maybe there are enough people who buy such things "just because" and I am not nocking that. Pretending it has any real utility is just plain silly.

The reason it is called the Cyclops is because of the big dent it leaves in your forehead.
That is beyond stupid

I enjoy shooting .45-70 in a Sharps clone. The #3 Ruger I once owned less so. That thing is an exercise in pure masochism.

Range toy. Everything has a purpose. But for me, I’m not paying that much money to fire one round!

I'd almost get one just to have it on hand for that friend that "loves recoil".

I’d never buy one at that price, but I would like to shoot one. I never understood the attraction to any of the bond arms derringers. Especially in the fancy holster. I can carry a J frame just as easily.

I don't see an extractor? That would be really cheap.
Perhaps they figure nobody will want to fire it again after the first round.

Yes, there looks to be a small opening to get a fingernail or flat-bladed screwdriver on the rim to get the empty case out. If your hands aren't shaking like leaves in the fall after firing that monster.

I don't think John Wick would shoot it, and I saw one of the John Wick movie derringers at a LGS a couple of years ago.
