What the heck is wrong with you people today? 22 deleted posts?
If you don't like the idea of this gun, move along to a Glock or Beretta thread! :p
OP, thanks for posting. ;)

Its definitely in my top three anyway and if it shoots like I've heard and expect it to, it could easily be #1. I say modern, because its hard to compare the older guns. It was a different era, with different materials, technology, and processes. I have some extremely fine older pistols that are hand built works of art, but the metallurgy and machining precision are way better today.

This pistol is a tour de force of precision and quality. The M-Arms Kratos is a joint effort between M-Arms of Slovenia and Phoenix of Switzerland. It is based lightly on the M1911, but has significant differences and improvements. It debuted in Europe in 2023 and made it into the states late last year. The importer brought in five to start and I was lucky enough to get one. All parts large and small, are machined from billet steel. Truthfully, it’s one of the most impressive pistols I’ve ever seen. It’s very tight, yet extremely smooth. The Kratos has been known to shoot 70,000+ rounds without a single part replaced. Initial factory ransom rest accuracy testing has yielded sub 1” groups at 50 meters, which would instantly make it one of the most accurate handguns in history. The Kratos reminds me of Cabot due to its extreme precise machining, but its also beefier and heavier than any of my Cabot 1911's or 2011's.

Shaking the gun, even with an empty magazine inserted, makes no sound. It feels like one solid piece of steel. The Kratos weighs over 3lbs unloaded. The slide and frame are stainless, with the slide finished in black DLC for a nice two tone look. The Kratos is loosely based on the 1911, but has several upgrades to make it stand out. I expect it to shoot better than any 1911 I own. It's as precise as a Cabot, as tight as something like a Les Baer, yet glass smooth like maybe a Pardini GT. Its extremely impressive. I have yet to shoot mine, but plan to soon. If it shoots like expected (and I have zero reason to think it won't), it will actually be a bargain at $7000+. That's how good it is.

Beautiful pistol

Beautiful pistol, thanks for sharing! Please pardon my questions, would be nice to know if:

Is it made in Switzerland or in Slovenia?
Case is an Italian made Negrini or something better?
Did it come with a test target in the box showing its impressive performance?

Interesting, they mention 'hardened steel' in various places on the website but no mention of type of steel used or actual hardening values.

iT IS A BEAUTIFUL FIREARM VERY GLAD YOU LIKE IT,iF YOU ENJOY IT THAT IS all THAT COUNTS,i AM JEALOUS.but IF I HAD T TO SPEND I WOULD PUT A FEW MORE DOLLARS WIH IT AND GET A REGISTERED s&w . MAGNUM .wHEN IT COMES DOWN TO IT WHAT we WANT IS ALL THAT MATTERS.

There are LOTS of hobbies,, and for me, guns is just one hobby,,

I paid 4 Kratos for this hobby artifact,, and it was a steal at that price,,
( I bought it 18 months ago )
Some people are paying TEN Kratos for this toy now,,

So, it just depends on what you want to spend your $$ on,,
as far as I am concerned,,

Thanks for sharing your new gun with us. Only problem I see is that the the increased SS payment I get now WEP is gone falls a bit short of $7k. As with supercars, I will continue to live vicariously through others. :)

If it's everything it's cracked up to be, I could see $3000 in today's market, but $7000 is simply ridiculous.

Why is it $7000?

$3000? You can’t even get a Nighthawk or Wilson for that. Their entry level steel 1911’s are more than $3000.

You do know there are tons of competition pistols and 2011’s priced in that realm, correct? There’s a LONG waiting list.

I mean even most semi custom 1911’s are $4-$6000.

Money is relative. I like the fact that the best stuff is expensive. I’d rather not see every other person shooting the same stuff as I do. They aren’t meant to be for everyone.

It's a beautiful piece of work, but for $7,000, a handgun should have auto target acquisition capability and look down shoot down radar. :D:D:D

Again, $7000 handguns are not uncommon. When Nighthawk 1911’s are $4-$6000, $7000 competition pistols are common. Many are priced like this and a lot more.

I’ve got five Nighthawk’s and the Kratos is a lot nicer than any of them.

Looking forward to seeing some targets, shot at 50 yds,
offhand, one and two hands.

I've met people, adults, back in the '70s, with 12K gold flutes, and some with 3K silver flutes, top of the line back then, that had been playing for well over 15 years.
Compared to some of my 12-15 year old students, playing for only 3 years, on $500 flutes, and the kids were far better musicians, than the older ones were.

Top of the line silver Alto Flutes are about 20-25K now.
Violins can be many times more.
Nice to make them sound as they should.

Being just a collector of expensive stuff, is great.
I've had yachting clients, with multi-million dollar boats, but needed a crew at the helm, one, after trying to pass under a draw bridge, and ripping the side of the boat up a bit.
Bridge repairs were not cheap as well.
I knew that owner for many years, great guy.
When we were having a cold one, I asked him what happened,
his reply was that he wanted to try to handle that new boat.
He did okay in open water and flat seas.

bc1023 I tend to save any bragging till I know what I can do with any firearm ! Fell free to use a bench rest and support for your bang bang then tell us how well you can do . I have a early M&P 4.25 core with a apex fst trigger kit and there gun smith fit barrel that was easy to fit at home and I can manage 1.20" 5 shot group at 25 yards from a bench and a rest , not bad for an old man . Grandson a little better . Cost was waaaaaaay less too .

Very nice op, she’s pretty.
Not the gun I’d drop $7k on; but I won’t drop a $100k on an EV or $200 on a bottle of JW Blue Label either. It’s your money and you’ve spent it on what makes you happy. That’s what it’s all about. :)

Okay. I guess my head IS in the sand about what's going on these days. Thanks for bringing me up to date, sort of (don't know if I'll ever really catch up).

That extractor is impressive. If the internals are fitted like that, wow.

World’s Largest Safety Award goes to Kratos.

The squared off trigger guard is very 80s. But I like it.

For $7K, Kratos should have asked LPA not to stamp their initials on the rear sight.

Nine Millimeters should all be double stack. If SIG can do it in their tiny little 365, everybody can in everything else.

I catch 7 kinds of something unmentionable for urging people to invest in a $600 Garmin. BC, I don’t understand why there isn’t an angry mob waiting to tar and feather you for the audacity of posting a $7K, single stack 9. lol!
I like your Kratos. It’s only a waste of money if (a) You don’t shoot it, and fondle it a lot, or (b) it goes down in value. I doubt it’ll ever go down in value. In which case, your money has simply temporarily shape shifted.
