Winchester model 60As
I got these two at Tulsa last weekend. Winchester single shots are my addiction. These two are very nice condition and the price was right. One is a target rifle with peeps, hooded front sight, barrel band, steel butt plate and sling swivels. They only produced just over 6,100 targets. It has a 27 inch barrel and is chambered .22 long rifle only.
Pretty nice for a couple old guys.
The other is a sporting style with open sights, rubber butt plate and a 23 inch barrel. It is chambered short, long and long rifle.
The two were made in the 1930s and are both model 60A.

Nothing like a single shot .22 to pass a lazy afternoon. Good looking rifles!

Very nice OP. 60A Targets are a lot scarcer than most folks realize and yours appears to be an excellent example.

I had one when I was a kid. My bro had a Rem 512. I liked that one much better and used it more than he did.

Really neat little single shot rifles. I have two 60As, one with the finger groove stock like yours and one with a smooth forearm, both with 23" barrels. Also an early model 67 with a finger groove stock and a slim 27" barrel. Very well made for inexpensive "boy's guns". My 60a with the smooth stock has a barrel that is more brown than blue but I have shot groups from bench rest with CCI std vel LR ammo that are probably the smallest I have ever fired with any of my .22 rifles with iron sights. Can't have too many of these fine old single shots.

The one on the right is what I grew up with and learned to shoot with. I could still see good then and it was pretty darn accurate. A fair number of rabbits fell to it. The rifling in it was extremely light but it worked. My brother has it. He had it reblued. It came out ok I guess. I found one when my kids were very small with a badly cracked butt. I think I paid $20. I trimmed it to young kid length and they learned on one too. I cold blued it. It came out consistent but more grey. I also free floated it with a gob of epoxy putty. It has more defined rifling that the one I grew up with. It's more accurate than my eyes can take advantage of with the OEM sights. I'd like to find a couple of good looking ones like in the OP's pic.

No, I wish I could find about a half a dozen. Two things I never see are the Kerr slings and >22 Extra Long ammunition. I have never had a Nobuckl sling.
