In my world of .22 Rimfire rifles I like the CZ American and the Winchester 9422 Legacy.

On the CZ American one may change out the OEM slotted head screws for pan head socket screws which maybe obtained from J&P Products LLC

I was surprised at the quality of the wood on the CZ but I’m no disappointed with the Winchester either.

Both rifles have their merits. I can’t bring myself to mount a scope on the Winchester. I’ll probably mount a receiver sight then maybe not that either. Just your basic wood and steel not your plastic fantastic.

Nice rifles, but they put the bolt on the wrong side; those silly Czechs, must be kids.

22's have been my favorite for a long time .
40XBR
541 S
541 T bull bbl
Annie 1710 sporter
Savage Ans. mod 54 sporter
CZ American
T.C. Custom shop
10-22 full blown target
plus a few other odds and ends
This is as bad a sickness as Smith&wessonitus
but I do love it

Very nice 9422.

Was that a special edition with the pistol grip stock with corresponding lever or is that a customized gun. I don't recall seeing one before, but I really like the looks of it. The barrel looks longer than standard as well. My '81 vintage 9422 is jealous.

CJ, the Legacy was standard with that stock and barrel length. I have one around here somewhere, but no pictures.

I can't believe you manly S&W types shoot rimfires!

Winchester 52D - steel, baby!

When I was younger, I used to turn my nose up at Mossbergs, which is further proof that I am sometimes (often?) an idiot. This 44 US(b) is more fun than chasing girls (at least at my age):

My all-time favorite .22 rifle, a BRNO #5. You can tell it's had a hard life:

Pumps are good, very American. Here's a Winchester 62A:

But I like this Remington 121 better:

I have a lot more (really need to take a picture of my Martini 12/15, you guys would like it), but that's enough wasted bandwidth for me. Suffice it to say that I really like rimfires, from $50.00 specials on up. I'll close with something rimfire and S&W related:

If there is quality in the photographs it’s the camera over riding the ineptitude of the operator.

The wood is rather nice but it was the luck of the draw. Left-hand rifles are seldom in stock. It was a surprise to both the dealer and my self. The dealer said that was the best figured wood he has seen to date on a CZ American.

As for the bolt being on the wrong side I’d say it’s about time.

Kimber and Ultra Light are both on my whish list.

The Winchester 9422 Legacy standard barrel length to the best of my knowledge is 22-1/2 in. My example is for 22 Long & Long Rifle but not for usage with Shorts. My understanding is there were feeding/safety issues with the short.

Dennis,

You have a pair of beautiful and fine .22 rimfires. If you mount a receiver sight on the Winchester, consider the NECG receiver sight. I put a Williams on my 9422M but later changed to the NECG. It's a little more expensive but it doesn't hang off the side of the receiver like the Williams, looks much better and is, in my opinion, a better peep sight.

Dennis,
Don't let those "wrong-handed" shooters throw cold water on that perfectly manufactured CZ!!

Other lefty approved rim-fires:

Need to get a pic of my Mountie to add to the collection!

My Remington 552. If I could only keep one rifle this would be it:

Not pictured are:
Weatherby MKII bolt action. Technically it's my most accurate .22 but only with one brand of ammo.

My Dad's old Marlin single shot...

Marlin 983 WMR with walnut stock.

My wifes CZ Scout, which she shoots very well.

K22

Ruger MKII with red dot

IJ TP-22 (more fun than it has a right to be)

Probably a couple of others.
I love rimfires!

There are some very sweet rifles in this thread, though mine may not be as pretty as some she is a very fine shooter with classic lines.

She's a Kimber .22 Hunter. A Mauser style claw extractor with controlled feed, fully adjustable trigger set up at 12oz, and Winchester style wing safety. I use it for hunting and target shooting, for a light sporter she holds here own against heavy target rifles often placing and occasionally winning.

I'm really enjoying this thread, contemplating all these great .22 rifles. I'd take any or all of them.

I have several .22 rifles but these three are my favorites. Left to right: Model 1922AII Springfield, Winchester Model 1890 (uncommon in .22 Long Rife), and a sad but scarce Winchester Model 57.
