It's been a while since I have posted anything interesting. Here's an attempt.
This is a wonderful DWM 1906 commercial Luger. It is relatively rare for several reasons: The "BUG" proofing demonstrates it was made for commercial sale prior to 1912. The lack of "Made in Germany" demonstrates it was not made for export to the U.S. And the 9mm caliber is rare in this model. Most were 7.65mm. Most commercial 1906 Lugers imported to the U.S. had the American Eagle on top. So it got here somewhat unintentionally.
My guess is that it is a WW2 bringback, having been taken from a German home. Just a guess since it is impossible to know.
However it got here, it has survived the years quite nicely.
