Has anyone else sent their Model 700 in for the trigger recall that was initiated due to the rifle being able to fire just by closing the bolt.
It was only supposed to take UPS 1 day to show up with a "call tag" after you called them when you had packed your rifles in the boxes sent to you. (I have 2 under the recall) It took them 7 days and they still did not get it right.
Finally got them on their way last Friday (11/19) and they still do not show they arrived at the authorized repair facility in Darlington S.C. ! Supposed to arrive by 8p.mp tomorrow.
Supposed to take 10 to 12 weeks so, I have a wait on my hands to say the least.

I have a 25.06 700BDL with a super nice factory trigger in it. I have checked it out well since the recall and have no intentions of changing it.

My son got the run -around from Remington and decided to put a Timney trigger in his.

Neither my son or I have experienced any sleep loss over our choice of what to do..

My apologies to the board for initially putting this in the wrong forum. I must have just had a brainf**t.
I bought both of these rifles new. A last-year (2005) 700 Classic in .308 and a 700 SPS (same year ) in .270. Neither one has been fired or even had their bolt put in the rifle. Sure hope they do it right and do not hurt them while being shipped back and forth to an authorized repair shop in Darlington S.C.
The notice said expect 10 to 12 week turnaround !

I installed a Timney #3 in less than an hour.

Sent Remington the bill asking for reimbursement, they wrote back saying the recall was voluntary so no refund. I wasn't holding my breath, but I will take this into consideration when buying my next rifle.

Good luck with yours.

It wasn't too bad.

I went through the website for the recall on 4/16/14. Remington replied right away acknowledging the submission. On 5/1 I recieved an email with a return shipping label. 5/3 return box was shipped to me. Not sure the date I shipped it but Remington sent me an e-mail that they received the rifle 5/18. On 6/26 Remington sent an e-mail that the rifle was being shipped back. 7/1 rifle arrived back home.

Rifle shot the same as it has before. I since replaced it with a Timney.

I like my 700 too much to send it out when it works fine. If it ain't broke..

Me too HOUSTON. Had my 700 since 84 and nary a problem. Ain't no 3 lb. trigger but no creep and breaks like glass. Just like to mention the bluing is like a mirror and the stock very pleasing to look at. Plus for only $335 back then brand new.
