I just got an e-mail from the Brady Campaign. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, but their lies seem even more brazen lately. They want their supporters to oppose S. 845 which would establish concealed carry reciprocity. In their words:

This legislation would force states, your state, to allow dangerous individuals to pack heat in public.

And,

This legislation would allow the carrying of loaded, concealed firearms outside a person's home state, even by persons legally barred from possessing guns in the state where the carrying occurs.

Here is the actual language of the bill:

‘Sec. 926D. Reciprocity for the carrying of certain concealed firearms

‘Notwithstanding any provision of the law of any State or political subdivision thereof:

‘(1) A person who is not prohibited by Federal law from possessing, transporting, shipping, or receiving a firearm, and is carrying a valid license or permit which is issued pursuant to the law of any State and which permits the person to carry a concealed firearm, may carry a concealed firearm in accordance with the terms of the license or permit in any State that allows its residents to carry concealed firearms, subject to the laws of the State in which the firearm is carried concerning specific types of locations in which firearms may not be carried.
‘(2) A person who is not prohibited by Federal law from possessing, transporting, shipping, or receiving a firearm, and is otherwise than as described in paragraph (1) entitled to carry a concealed firearm in and pursuant to the law of the State in which the person resides, may carry a concealed firearm in accordance with the laws of the State in which the person resides in any State that allows its residents to carry concealed firearms, subject to the laws of the State in which the firearm is carried concerning specific types of locations in which firearms may not be carried.’.

Unfortunately, chances are slim it will ever pass........

Ah, ya gotta love "The Brady bunch"! ( Reichminister Goebbels would have) I got the same msg. with tearful request for donation, of course.

Don't "unsubscribe" from their e-mail notices. If they send them to enough of us it has to cost them $.

I also signed up for "snail mail" info. Not only do they have to pay postage to send it to me, they have to pay to get back the postage paid envelope I fill with NRA propaganda.

Good one, never would have thought of putting NRA useful information, (not propaganda)
in their envelope.

Definition of insanity

Doing the same thing over and over again in exactly the same manner and expecting a different result; this is one definition of insanity.

The nice folks at the Brady Campaign may not be insane, but they are certainly challenged by logic, reason, common sense, and the truth.

If you repeat a lie, over and over and over enough times, people will believe it.

The German people believed it about the Jews. The Russian and Chinese people believe(d) it. Global warming. The American people about Native Americans. The list goes on and on.

I certainly don't want dangerous individuals carrying guns in my state. Oh yeah, the bill doesn't allow that anyway.
Notice the emotional language used. This is a mainstay of anti gun (and pro gun for that matter) propaganda. In TN it was the "guns in bars" bill--like if you walked into a bar there would be piles of weapons heaped up in the corner for the taking. Never mind the bill was anything but.
Truth is a silent stranger in the visitor's gallery with the gun control crowd.

You already have dangerous people carrying guns in your state and all others. They are known as "criminals". They don't care what laws exist.
Butch

I don't think that's subtle and nuanced enough for them to have long discussions over Pinot Grigio and firm white cheese trays with Butch?

You expect me to believe that a criminal will break a gun law! Sometimes I think that the Brady Bunch actually believes their own lies.
