I just taught my children the word NO, first of all... and then proper weapons handling and safety.
More kids need to learn this "NO" concept...

I think you nailed this. I'm sure the people that sell this know it is stupid, and snicker a bit every time some idiot buys one.

Keep in mind that the people that buy and use this deserve this! In fact, I think it would be a better product if it fused to the barrel and rendered the firearm usless FOREVER-- because those that would use it are really too dumb to have a firearm!

Kids are always curious about things so if you teach them about guns they'll know and won't be curious. I always tell my son if you want to look and hold the gun it's no problem. I'll unload it and let him hold it, disassembled it, showed him all the pieces and took him to range and see it in action. After all of that he's no longer interested in it and doesn't bother it.

I have an iron clad rule -- no one under 18 is allowed in my house -- leave the kids at home -- but I still keep all my guns either in the safe or out of sight -- being an old grouch suits me just fine
