I was introduced to handguns at a young age (12) by my Father. Over the years I have owned and sold a few tools ( my father always referred to "guns" as tools and himself as the "weapon" that knew how to use the tool ). During my youth I was aware that my father was an avid "tool" owner and 2nd amendment right supporter. What I was unaware of is that he had amassed a huge "tool" collection over the years. To my surprise he finally allowed me a peak into his "tool" safe's a few months ago; and I could not believe my eyes. I was always given the immersion that my father owned "tools" for self defense as he has had a CPL since the days of going before the gun board was required. After a month of cataloging and cleaning I was given a small rectangle box for Christmas; this is was a rarity as my Father always just gives cards with a little cash. After the shock of receiving an rapped gift wore of and I ripped the paper away to revile a light blue box with the infamous S&W logo; I realized what my Father had done. He had given me a "tool" that he acquired in the late 70's or early 80's. It was a S%W Mod 59 NP 100% NIB. I would never sell this gifted "tool" but I am no gun collector and was wondering if any of the more knowledgeable Michigan "tool" owners or collectors would be able to give me some insite as to the worth of this "tool", and should I keep it in the house or the safety deposit box?
