My S&W MP15 O/R with Troy Flip-ups and new additions:
Tapco Riser Mount and NCSTAR Mark III Tactical Scope/Red Dot
with quick release mount. Crosshairs are std black with the twist
of the knob illuminates to Red or Green crosshairs on the 3x9 scope.
The Red dot is 1x.

Has anyone else have experiences with this scope/red dot combo.

on the 15-22 forums seems that people either love them or hate them. ive heard of them not holding zero, crosshairs canted out of line, breaking apart, then ive heard they are amazingly good.

Thanks for your input.
I have no issues with mind so far.
But maybe it's because I actually own one and I'm not going by hearsay.

sounds good, have you range tested it yet>? if so did it have any problems at all holding zero? thats been one big concern ive had about ordering it.

I had ordered a 2-7 NCstar. The reticle was not level so I sent it back for a different scope. Glad to hear you are having good luck with yours.

I have the same setup on my 15-22 and it "feels" like a decent enough product but I can't comment on holding zero till after this weekend.

I drove over to my local outdoor range today near closing to test/confirm
that my scope will hold zero.

As I drove into the parking lot, someone was walking down to the rifle
range with a Barrett .50 caliber sniper rifle.

I decided to save my eardrums and hearing and wait until another
time to test fire my S&W M&P15 O/R with the Ncstar scope.

I already have Tinnitis, and partial hearing loss..so I was not
going to compromise my hearing with someone firing a Barrett .50 cal
near me in the stalls.

Were you not planning on wearing hearing protection?

I take my over the ear and inner ears both with me in the ammo can and if I need extra protection I use them both.

I always wear both sets as well, but next to a Barrett .50
I'm not taking any chances. Hearing loss does not come back.
