I have a S+W Model 66 all target 6" with origianal box, papers, wood grip with a Hougue rubber grip, in VG/EXCELLENT CONDITION. Any ideas on $$.

There's one listed in the classifieds now that sounds like yours, box, papers, etc. Listed for $650. If you look on the auction sites you find ranges going from 500 to 700 but it doesn't look like they are getting many bids. It may be the 6" barrel, the 4" and 2 1/2" barrel lengths seem to be much more popular now.

Good luck.

I have found locally that Gunshop sale is about 40-50% of book, and trade in is about 50-60% of book. Outright sale, although it might take longer, generally results in a higher value.

If I were to sell it, I would put in for $500 or OBO if you want maximum price. If the price is too high folks will let you know quickly via email or PMs (if you put it in the sell section of this forum for example). This may take awhile for it to sell.

If you want to sell it quickly, put an aggressive price and the gun will sell if you have decent pics and good descriptions of what exactly is in the package (history, number of rounds shot, original owner, etc.)

I sold my 66-3 with 2.5 inch barrel for around 500 dollars (can't remember the exact price) about 6 months ago and it came with the original box, unused tools, original grips and hogue, tyler T-grip, and Bianchi holster. I was the original owner and know I shot it very little.

Hope that helps....

Depends on how bad and fast you want to sell it. $500 would be bottom and 625 would be the high. Dealer will give you from 450 to 475 for it so they can sell it for 550 to 575. So a fast sell would be 475.

I agree with almost all of this except the dealer price. I would bet they wouldn't offer more than 375. $475 I think is a decent price.

Maybe it is regional but dealers in my area don't want to pay anything - they want to steal guns. Not a S&W but about a year ago I was at a local counter when an old buck was trading in a NIB Beretta 28ga in a high grade that he had bought from the same dealer hoping to get his bride out in the woods. Apparently his plan didn't work. Dealer offered $300. I was disgusted.
