So I am watching the movie Blue Steel staring Jamie Lee Curtis.

The bad guy is reloading his revolver. This is what you see as he drops new cartridges in the cylinder. Then he fires the gun.

Shouldn't need a silencer to keep that gun quiet with that load out!
Hahaha!

They're just rounds that need a second primer strike! Must have been sloppy reloads

NOT an error.
Hollywood rounds will fire AT LEAST 3 times.
Haven't you guys ever watched a Western?

Hey, it's probably the only movie where they ever reloaded a gun, give them a break.

I watched True Grit's Jeff Bridges carefully aim his Win on his right shoulder, with a patch on his right eye, and kill the bad guy at a considerable distance. Guess he's cross eye dominant.

Wow can't believe I am the only one who knows a "firing pin striker channel" when he sees it. Clearly these are Hollywood primers with striker channels to prevent breakage of firing pin.

Nothing new...

Take a look at the first season opening credits of the ORIGINAL Hawaii-FiveO. They show the spinning cylinder of a flat-latched S&W M60 while being loaded with dented primers and then with a flick of the wrist snapped the cylinder shut!

OUCH!

Those are those new California primers.
They have to come pre-struck since that new Cal law went into effect on 1/1/11. I think the ammo manufacturers have dealt with the new No Firing Pin Channel Law quite nicely.

I had to check this out, sure enough!

Yeah, I saw that error when the movie first came out. It clouded any pretense of authenticity as I watched it. At least Jamie Lee Curtis was worth watching, anyway!

My wife says " they've already got those little dents in them". :D Her education is progressing.

Reminds me of Saving Private Ryan at the last battle where Opum has the belted ammo on his shoulders, no primers in them at all! Those gaping little holes sure stand out.
Another thing about the movie Blue Steel, you mean to tell me that arm would work at all after that bullet hit it? Amazing how in some movies the hero gets hit by whatever and all the body parts still work, but the bad guys get hit by gunfire and go sailing through the air! Love a double standard.
