Yo TBone. Congrats on your purchase. Shoot often! Welcome from San Diego!

congrats just that thing as much as possible its a great firearm if u take the time to learn how to shoot it

Welcome from the Alamo!

Practice, practice, practice!

You might just love it!;)

Welcome and congrats

I think a $250-$300 Sigma is the best hi-cap, lifetime guarantee, semi currently on the market.

Don't let the haters tell you differently.

IF the trigger is rough and gritty, you can do this:

1. Call S&W customer service and tell them it's "gritty and rough".
Do NOT tell them it's "stiff" (it was designed to be "stiff").

2. They'll email a prepaid label to return the frame to them.

3. In a couple of weeks they'll return it, and it will be vastly improved.

All of this they'll do on their dime.

They've done four of my Sigma's just as described, and I've gotten excellent customer service from S&W.

Be safe and shoot it a lot!

btw: Is the Smith $50 rebate still in effect on Sigma's?

A good deal on a great gun! Welcome to the forum! Just know what you have and what to expect! You didn't say if you new anything about the Sigma before or not. It is not a 1911!! It is desidned with a heavy(11-12lb) trigger pull. Mine had no grit out of the box! If you are used to shooting high dollar rifles or 1911s, the trigger may suprise you! If you are used to shooting DA revolvers, you won't think twice about it! When I 1st got mine my finger would get tired after a few mags! A few trips to the range fixed that. 1600 rounds later of the cheapest ammo I could get my hands on & not a problem yet! Dry fire it as much as you can! Obviously make sure its unloaded! Dry firing it will help smooth the internals & help strengthen your Sigma finger! Its a great shoting gun with agreat price & a great company behind it! Enjoy!;)
