Made burgers tonight on the grill, with charcoal of course. Made skinny little weenie burgers for the Wife and Daughter. Mine are a different story. Allow me to elaborate.
Each one made with 85% lean ground beef, my patties each weigh a full pound. I mix in shredded cheese and beefy onion soup mix with the meat before cooking. Cooked them incredibly rare with centers basically raw. Put on whole wheat bun (they're more healthy 'ya know), added mustard, ketchup, tomatoes, onions and more cheese. (Forgot to buy lettuce, pickles, mayo and bacon, darn it). But before I assembled this masterpiece I added the ultimate step to ensure a gourmet burger.....I dipped it in batter and DEEP FAT FRIED the burger.
If you don't already have a cholesterol problem you should try it, it is indescribably good.
Now my daughter is making double chocolate brownies for dessert. It's a good thing I'm a member of the YMCA.

Keep this in mind, grass fed beef has no bad cholesterol. You can get away with murder with this stuff. Just hard to find. What kind of batter was it? How did you do it?

Edit to add; Grass fed and grass finished. No grain, no drugs or chem's.

It was McCormick Golden Dipt Beer Batter for seafood. Just dipped it in it and quickly fried it in vegetable oil. I'm not real picky about the brand of batter, but it was GOOD.:D

Sounds really good but to add more flavor and therefore more fat yielding more cholesterol, try them with ground CHUCK rather then lean. Mo Better that way:D

My son and I were talking about this today. Can't wait for BBQ season. Cold beer and horseshoes, and fresh garden salads.
Peace,
gordon

OK just wanted some idea; as I am always looking for a new good way to eat food. I'll try it, and thanks.

Now you've got me wanting to make a road trip to Chandler, Arizona.... the Heart Attack Grill. Half pound burgers, either single, double, triple or four all stacked up. Flatliner Fries cooked in good ol' lard. It can't get much better than that !!!

Still gotta try a 'chicken-fried bacon burger'!

Take a 1 pound slab of bacon , run it thru a meat grinder , form it into a patty , batter it , and then deep fry it!

YUM-YUM!!!

I saw a story on TV about it. I fell down prostrate in front of the TV and screamed out "I AM NOT WORTHY!"

all this talk about hamburgers has me in the mood for a bacon cheese burger from my favorite diner. the whole burger with all of the toppings is almost 5 inches thick of heaven on a plate.

Sounds good. You might want to keep a defibulater handy. Just in case. ;-)

I may never be a skinny guy again at this rate. Deep fried hamburgers. I thought I was bad enough chopping up bacon and mixing it in the meat.

My cholesterol went up 20 points just reading this thread. It's going up more than that when I get a big ol' double fat burger at lunch today.
