That's a looker! And a serious set-up on a great revolver. Now you need a cheap nylon holster.............. just kiddin'!:D

Good leather and plenty of ammo to put down range, your set!

We're gonna' need a range report and more pictures.

I must be smarter than I thought. I bought a 3" M-65 ten years ago, sheared off the hammer spur, undercut and painted the front sight for better visibility, did an action job to reduce the DAO pull to about seven pounds, and put a set of combat grips on it. Total cost was about $350. It's the one in the middle.

But I have to admit..........yours is a lot prettier. Mine was an old police trade-in. Nice pickup!

That is one awesome revolver!
K-frame carry perfection if you ask me!
Have you shot it yet?

That is an outstanding gun! I would love to have a gun worked on by Sokol.

Good looking revolver...but was never a fan of Ashleys big dot sights(and I knew Ashley from him hanging around Cheaper than Dirt, when I worked there).. got to play with them alot.

Wow! that's a beautiful 3" 65. It doesn't sound like you carry it, but I wonder if that XS would catch on draw?

I've got something simular in the works as we speak. My M65 "4 in is with Jim Stroh of Alpha Precision to recieve a "3 in barrell and a few other goodies.

Several years ago, I read an article about a Sokol 65 that prompted me to purchase a 65-5, 3" that I intended to have customized. I left the gun in stock condition as it was too nice to modify. Once in a while though, I think about getting another one to customize.

Thanks for the great story/pics and probably costing me more money!!

That is my idea of a carry gun. I have been thinking about a 64 or a 65 in a 3" HB with about all the same modifications as yours. Probably a standard Novak 1911 Tritium front sight, and no sight tunnel treatment.

I have been looking for a 65-5 in 3 inch but the only ones I find are the ones with the chrome flashed trigger and hammer, did they not make these with case colored hammer and trigger?

I'm pretty sure you only get the case colored parts with the blued steel guns. But I won't swear to that. Nothing in the S&W catalog seems to be a constant. Now we get stainless steel guns with blackened parts...
