I retired last month after 33 years at the road dept. and my coworkers gave me a gift cert. to a local gun store. I Bought a S&W 617 with a 4 inch barrel, then added a new set of Ahrends grips.
My wife and I are going to the range tomorrow.

You did well on your purchase. I probably shoot my 617 the most of all my handguns as far as round count. Your choice in grips dressed it up quite a bit also.
