I need to make my M52 hold 6 rounds not 5. I have read its been done with out all to much trouble. I dont know if its just file the slot longer or more than that?

I dont really want to experiment, I'd rather do it right the first time.

Ive got a machine shop so milling, grinding no big deal.

Thanks!

Here is the way I modified mine for 6 rounds, I used a tight fitting Jo-block in the slot and turned my vise to pretty much be parallel with the slot then I put an indicator in my collet and indicated along the Jo-block till it was true, Then I think I used an 1/8" endmill and cut the slot on past the round hole that was the original end of the slot, it seems about 5/16 or 3/8 longer. You must cut the top slot and then pulldown and cut the second or bottom slot with out changing anything, do not make the slot any wider than the original top part. It can be done quite easily just remember that after putting 6 in slam the back of the mag on the palm of your hand to seat all rounds to the back of the mag. Mine works fine, some one had a picture in a 52 thread that showed one done it was about 2 or 3 months ago. Jeff

I did my 3 magazines about 30 years ago lengthening the slot using a cutoff disc in my Dremel tool. It may not be the prettiest thing but they have worked flawlessly since 1981. I did it so I could shoot Illinois Police Pistol competition with the 52. When others saw what I had done suddenly I had about 5 or 6 guys wanting me to modify their magazines for the same reason. My magazines have had thousands of rounds through them without a single failure to feed.

Thanks Guys!!
I was hoping it was just make the slot longer but I wasnt sure if it needed other mods as well.

I want to try and use this M52 in some competition but its all six shot stuff.

I have a box of brand new M-52-2 magazines, most still blisterpacked.

Could someone take a photo of the modification, please?

I might be in the shop later this week, perhaps Saturday. I will take a few pictures and postem when I do.

Interested in selling some of those mags, I could use a few more. :)
