If they ever make the Elite cleaner line smell like No. 9 then I might switch over to that. Maybe.

My Dad taught me how to clean a gun 40 yrs ago and he used #9. Has always been good enough for all of our guns. Count me in on the smell!!

Nothing smells more to me like fall hunting season than the scent of Hoppe's No. 9.
I am in the minority, but I don't like the stuff. It stinks, and it doesn't clean all that well.
I prefer to refer to this golden elixir as Chanel No. 9...

Has anyone made the old formula shown in Hatcher's Notebook? It's on page 352 of the 1966 edition.

The smell gets me in the mood!! Like most said 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' Lots of good cleaners out their today...clean and lube your guns regularly with your 'lube' of choice and you won't have any problems.
