Tyler T Grip company shutdown - shipping again

Well it looks like that guy that said he was in personal contact with Tyler was wrong.

When you Google their site just below it is a link to this site titled Tyler T Company Shutdown. If this was up last year I would have followed the link and not ordered from them.

Why anyone would patronize this company is a mystery ... especially when we have a forum member (wrangler5) producing similar grip adapters (BK grips) at a reasonable price and with immediate turnaround. Wrangler5 is an honorable man to deal with, which is far more than the can said about the Tyler people, and he is working hard to perfect his product. I choose to support a forum member and his honest business endeavor, and move on from charlatans like Tyler and Lawman Leather.

What a shame, I know of another good company that was run into the ground by the heirs.

That is the way of the modern American business owner. Take a company with a previously good reputation, bleed it for all the cash you can, set yourself up for life and screw the customer, blame everything on the cost of labor (whether it is an "evil" union shop or not is completely irrelevant) then walk away scot free. Works equally well whether you inherited the business or bought your way in.

I hope everyone who has an order pending with Tyler receives a satisfactory result in the end.

Twenty five dollars for a piece of moulded plastic is honorable!
Fifty to sixty dollars for a stamped piece of aluminum, is a deal! I just paid $25 a piece for some S&W new style blue gun props! 10-12% un-employment. I'm confussed.

We can see that.

Last night I read Tyler's web site and the updated message (4 August) sounded encouraging. Apparently the company is now under new management and ownership altogether and they are promising results. They are promising that all back orders will be going out very quickly. Let's wait and see what happens to the new firm before writing them off.

I hope everyone that ordered is made whole. Tyler was a reputable company that lost it's management and people wanted the product so they kept ordering. It is up to Tyler to make good on their failure. If not there will be others like wrangler5 who will capitalize on the market. My experience tells me that until Tyler has made good they are out of the picture and even then my business will go to the man that delivers and makes good on his business word and that is wrangler5.

Coming up

Well, my thanks to those of you who have supported BK Grips so far, whether by purchase or otherwise. It has been one of the best experiences of my business life.

And my sincere hope that those of you who have been stiffed by Tyler do indeed get what you ordered. Many of my customers fit that description, and while it's what got me in the business I do hope that they are made whole.

But just to let you know that BK grip adapters should continue to be worthy of your consideration, here is a photo of an experiment I did this morning as a result of a recent email exchange with a repeat BK Grips customer who is a regular contributor to this forum.

I modified one of my worn out molds (which is why the surface of the adapter itself is so lousy) to see if I could incorporate a second set of copper tabs. Turns out there is indeed room to anchor a second set. And this particular example has the most rock solid attachment to the gun of any adapter I've ever tried.

Look for double tabs to be a standard feature of BK grip adapters in the very near future. I hope at least some of you will continue to find them attractive.

No attached photo. Forthcoming?

There is only one photo

My reference to "attached" photo was written as I drafted the post and before I got the photo into the forum pile so I could include a URL and show the photo in the middle of the text. After I got the URL into the post I deleted the "attachment." I've now edited my text to remove the word "attachment."

On my browser (Firefox) the photo shows up between paragraphs 3 and 4 of the post. It also shows up in Neal's post where he quotes my original. I don't see any box with a red X in it.

See if this works

It appears that although I can edit my original post I cannot attach an image to it any more. So I've "attached" the same image to this one. In preview I see it as an Attached Thumbnail - see if it comes through in your browsers.

I'm a Mac (Safari) and all I could see was a "?" in a blue box.

Thumbnail attachment I can see.

Brilliant engineering revision.

Tyler who??

I can see it now

Patent it Quick!!!

Patent that 2 clip idea Quick!!! Before Tyler does. That is very nice.
Hey at the $100.+ going rate for single clip Tyler T-Grip adapters, you should offer an upgrade kit for the Tyler adapters out there. I'm sure they would sell as it would make them stay firmly in place.
Great job.

Just to add my 2 bullets to the batch.....I ordered my BK Grip from Kip 2 Fridays ago and received it Saturday. Not a bad turnaround time. The fitment is perfect, Workmanship is stellar and the "feel in the hand" with it on the weapon (642) with the wood diamond grips is nothing short of outstanding. The only thing I would have done different would have been wait until the grips were standard with the double clips. But, that being said, I'm sure the single clip will do and outstanding job of holding this thing together!!!!! If any of you are on the fence about Kip's product, you won't be disappointed to pick one up. Being a former Marine, and VERY fussy about what goes on my weapons, I am very satisfied and will recommend it to my troops.
I also hope that the new CEO (a LEO on furlough) can turn Tyler Company around and make good on its former owners commitals. Competition makes the world go round and I do wish the new CEO much success as I do BK Grips. There is enough business to go around. As for me...I will continue to give Kip my business, as he has proven his metl. Semper-fi MIke
