What holsters are you using for your N frames, range, field and concealed carry? I am using a Bianchi Cyclone for my 8 3/8 M-57 and an El Paso Tom Three Person for the 4" M-57, mostly to show off in. I am looking for a holster for a 6" M-28 for field and maybe carry use. I would also like a holster for the 4" that rides higher. I like Ray's Lobo Leather and am considering his pancake dual carry. What do you use? Do you have pictures?

If this is a repeat thread please direct me to the earlier one.

Thanks

I carry my 3" 657 every so often in the winter using either a Galco SH or a Lobo pancake. Pancakes a great rig IF you have a coat or heavy outer garment on to hide it. Also is good for outdoor activities and that's what my 657 rides in for security of the weapon. If your a big man I'd go with the Lobo as you will be able to get away with carrying it concealed with the right holster, belt ond outergarment. I'm 170 and 5' 7"'s and have a hard time covering that big flame thrower up:). Give Ray a call and talk your needs over with him. Great guy, builds a great holster at a great price. He's my go to guy for all of my holsters these days.

Sorry but I have no pics of them, but they are on Rays (Lobo) and Galcos web sights. There's an N frame Galco Miami Classic SH for sale on E-bay or GB right now for a good price that will work for that 4" 28. Mine is comfortable as heck and the two spped strips loaded with Speer GD's help to offset the weight. I'm also looking for one for my 66-2 as a motorcycle holster after selling one of them AND an Alessi pull through SH. Dumb Move! If anyone has a Galco for my 2.5" 66 and not using it please let me know. Too many darn gun websites to remember:)!

Kramer Holsters

For concealed carry with my Lew Horton (3") 29 and 629 I use a Kramer crossdraw holster. For my model 21 (4") a Kramer belt scabbard. The belt scabbard rides high and and close to the body. Kramer holsters have become my favorite holsters. Won't use any of my other holsters I like these so well. The only exception is with my Ed Browns (Kobra and Kobra Carry) I use Mitch Rosen holsters.

My Dirty Harry 44 magnum has never been in a holster.

I have n frame holsters from Galco, DeSaintis and Bianchi the Kramer holsters fits me best. I'm not knocking any of the others.

I would also put in a plug for Tauris Holsters made by Michael P. Taurisano. The only one I have is for a j frame. Very well made holsters. He makes them one at a time, former Deputy Chief of Police (35 yrs LEO) 40 years making custom gun holsters. Tauris Holsters, L.L.C. - Custom Leather

My M28 rides in a Kramer belt scabbard as well. Great holster in ALL regards. If I needed a new holster I would call Ray (lobogunleather.com) for a new one.

I have a Kramer that I used to use for court with my M58, just to avoid the duty belt. Works well. I also have (had?) a Bianchi 5BH, I think it is, which is not all that useful to me - not real concealable, AND poor security. Not even sure where it is right now, and I might have sold it in the holster purge a few years ago. If I were going to be hiking and OC was more appropriate (I generally oppose), I would use my Safariland 070 and a separate gun belt because it's very secure and a fast draw.

I have used an El Paso M1942 (lined) for field/concealed:

Lew Horton rides in a Bianchi thumb break.

I'm making a pancake for my Anaconda, then one for a 4" N-Frame. Making a Threepersons for my 6" N-frame also. I have a Ross Leather for my 6" now.

My 1917 rides in a Pacific Canvas repro.

I own a few N frames but have never tried to carry them concealed, just too heavy and bulky for me. I have carried them in the field before I owned the same caliber (357 Mag) in L & K Frames, and for that task I used a Bianchi OWB belt holster with a very thick 1 3/4" belt. Now that I own the K frames and L frames I usually opt for the smaller & lighter package, unless of course I know I will be shooting a lot of full power Magnum loads. Then........ the N Frame gets carried in the same holster stated above.

I use the Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake crossdraw for my 4" N frames, concealed and in the field.......

I do not carry very often and never concealed so I went for “pretty” ! :) :)

I like Simply Rugged as I feel it provides better protection in the field, and great retention without needing a strap & Snap.
I'm using my new laptop with windows 7, and can't get it oo get my photobucket to post.I figured out how to get the pictures to post.

Roy's

Howdy,
PC130050.jpg

I bought this Roy's leather goods holster off the S&W classifieds.
It makes a nice holster for the 25-2.
I like to walk the river hills around here. Most every gun I own gets a turn or two a year to go along.
Thanks
Mike

I also contacted Ray at Lobo and love the holster. Check out my thread entitled Check out my new IWB N-Frame holster from Lobo Gun Leather to see pics.
So far I have carried my 4" 28-2, my 4" 57, my 4" 624 and my 5" Heavy Duty in complete comfort.:D
Ray delivered in the time promised and his prices are ridiculously low for the quality of the product. (But don't tell him I said so).;)

Never, never, never tell them the prices are ridiculously low. I feel the same about Kramer and Tauris holsters.

I have a Simply Rugged pancake with inside out straps for my 3 inch Nframes, a Roys Original pancake and a Bianchi crossdraw for my 4" Nframes, and an Uncle Mikes nylon for my 6" Nframes for field carry. I had a Bianchi X15 a long time ago for my 6" 29-2 but haven't seen it in a while......guess I oughta search my holster box!

Great info and pictures. Keep em coming. Leaning twoard the Simply Rugged for the 6" M28. They are good for crossdraw correct?

Favorite for concealed is Desantis Speed Scabbard...holds the gun high and tight...

A friend who just passed away used to make these...I call it a Brewer Special...will take any N...is very fast and very secure....

I think this a Dillon for a 5" Classic...

Favorite holster for 6" guns, and works ok for 4-5" also is an original Roy Baker lined Pancake....

I have a couple of the Simply Rugged for Ks and a Freedom Arms 97 and would gladly buy a holster for another gun if I need one.... A friend I just got hunting with bought one of the Simply Ruggeds for his 5" 629 Classic and loves it...wore it for two weeks while hunting with his rifle...no more leaving the handgun at home since one of our guys had a run in with a bear while muzzle loader hunting in October..
