Don't take me wrong, I like my S&W .45 acps, I have four of them, a CS45, 4513TSW, 4516, and a 4566TSW. Over christmas I was talking with a neighbor, an FBI agent and on the SWAT team. He was showing me his SWAT pistol a Springfield 1911. I have never had any desire for a 1911, but his did feel pretty good in the hand. Yesterday, I has passing some time so I hit one of the LGS, and there in his case was a Springfield Loaded Champion, all stainless, night sights, 4" Semi-Commander length barrel and most important the ambi thumb safety, I am left handed. Haven't seen many S&W's in commander length with the ambi safety. I could not resist. So, I thought I would share a couple of pictures and ask for forgiveness. Too cold to go out in the field with it yet.

The 1911 is one of the tried and true platforms in any form, congrats, now you are hooked on another type.

If you had to stray, you could have done far worse. Springfields are very good guns, and their Customer service is on par with S&W. You done good, Sir.

Now that is a thing of beauty!! I could see myself cheating on my S&W 4506 with that!

I don't like it. It isn't a full-size 1911A1. I mean, it would do in a pinch...

For some reason, I just did not like the feel of the full size. Lately my EDC has been the 4513TSW, when comparing the two, other than 3 3/4 vs 4" barrels and the Springfield weighing a 1/2 lb more it is actually smaller in bulk when holstered.

As pennance you should sell me the 4513TSW. Just kidding, kind of, hope you enjoy the 1911. She's a beauty.

Boo this man. :p Just kidding! Nice S/A 1911. When I was on the 1911 hunt, I had narrowed my choices down to S&W and S/A. Congrats again & enjoy! We all need a range report, you know.

Smith makes 1911's now.... just sayin' ;)

Ya did good, you will be very happy with that one.
Springfield makes a great gun, my first 1911 was a Springfield Govt model, 35 years ago. Dang, I'm old.

Now get a 1911 in 10mm and you will see what awesome truly is. :D

That is a beauty for sure but don't worry about it. We all stray sometime.

:D I just can't get over the 16 years that I carried a GI .45 or the 4 years the Army forced me to carry that thing they called the M9, but I'm not bitter. Your little Springfield is really quite cute!

Nice Springer. I have a Stainless Loaded Target, finished in Armory-Kote, myself. I honestly feel 1911s are way over rated but they are fun though. If push came to shove I'd take a Sig Sauer P series over anything else. Great thing is, we don't have to choose, we can have some of each. :-)

I wouldn't turn your new Springer Commander sized gun away though. It sure looks nice, I hope you got a good deal on it.
