My Modded Sigma

OK, ive had a few folks wanting to see and hear of the things ive done to my sigma, and i FINALLY got my meprolight night sights on and so far i love them. {itll be awhile before a range report as im in the middle of a few serguries battling kidney stones....yaaaaaaa}

So first im gonna get into the trigger..i removed ONLY the piggy spring thats it...I then polished mirror smooth, let me be clear, I polished MIRROR smooth this part of the sear you see in the pic.....I also polished to the same qaulity the top of the sear face that contacts the striker....

I also polished the striker face, being carefull not to remove much if any material....

under the slide i polished this "button" for the ejector....there is a arm that sticks up from the trigger arm and it crosses and engages this "button" when the trigger is pulled....so less friction.

with this polishing my sigmas trigger is seamless and breaks at an average of 6.5lbs out of 5 pulls. I love it....

now Ive been a huge fan of stippling on guns for along time....so, i decided to try my hand at it and the results I LOVE....

firm purchase of the gun always and never slips!!
then i finally got around to putting my meprolight night sights on yesterday, and her it is....

i will get some night shots when i get my camera...my phone couldnt do it......
and here she is all together!!!!!!!!!!!!

So there ya go.....

Thanks man.....id say the only thing I wish was different is the slide.....is love to have a allied forces black slide.....is rather have a all black gun.....

if you want the slide to be black... look into sending your slide to this place to get painted... i have decided to do it real soon... i read about this place on another thread on this forum GoldenLoki.com

I'd rather it not be painted....I know that they say the stuff is tough...but I'd rather it be black from s&w....

Thanks....as for polishing, I used little finger embory boards first. Started with the middle board and went to the finest board. Then used a dremel with a polishing clothe and polished using three different stages of polishing compound, ending with a very fine compound and ended up with vitually a mirror on the sear face....

Man the stippling looks great. I going to THINK about doing mine, I guess once you start there is no going back.

The night sights are great I just put one on my LCR. I don't know if I want drop 150 bones on sights.

Thanks...the stippling isn't as hard as you'd think.....practice on something else first lol...I practiced on the inside of a hard plastic gun case...

I've been wanting the night aight for awhile...I cc this everyday, day and night, and although I carry a nice pocket flashlight I've always been worried about not having a sight picture in a night situation....not anymore..

As far as stippling, its not hard but its not easy. You can **** your gun up really quick. I used a soldiering gun, with a tip about like a pencil tip...I tried different tips and this one is my favorite...
You pretty much just start by doing little burn marks all over, melting alittle of the grip as you go. The goal is to eventually "knock" down the checkering smith put on there and blend them into your stippling design so you can't see them.....the front and backstrap are much harder to do, cause they have a lot deeper checkering....if your interested I can do your lower anywhere and way u like....send me a pm if you want, but if your confident in your artsy side, it can be done. But a messed up gun can happen too, I've see it...

Man let me tell you I'm still on the fence about the stippling. your looks great, but I have a soldering gun, and it has more of a blunt tip not a sharp tip like a soldering iron does.

I prefer a sharper tip, to make small "marks" each time. I tried, practiced with all the tips for my iron, but I found that a sharper one, similar to a pen tip work best for me. Hell some people take a Sharp tip and just jab little holes all in it, those are horrible IMO. Once the iron is hot it doesnt take but little baby strokes to make a mark......
