Camp Shelby is a National Guard training base not far from where I live. It has been very active in the last ten years or so training troops to fight in Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan Several nights ago in the wee hours of the morning a MP radioed in that he had been shot while doing a security check near one of the main gates. Other MP's and deputies from my department answered the call. First indications were he had been hit center mass in his body armor by a 9 mm or .380. He was taken to a local hospital where it was determined he had been struck by something as it left a bruise on his chest. Two inches higher and the round would have missed his vest and entered his bopdy just below his neck.

His wife was called and came to the hospital to be by his side. He was carried home by his wife after an examination. The MP came to the Sheriff's Office the next day and after interogation it was determined that his wife was the person who had shot him. It seems that she had showed up at the gate wearing one of his camo uniforms and that as he approached she turned her headlights on bright where he couldn't clearly see her and stepped out of her vehicle and shot him one time with a .380 Kel Tec. She thought he had been cheating on her. The gun was later found buried behind their house. She was arrested and after her bond was set the MP came down and bonded her out of jail. Ain't love grand? I was devastated to find out my wife was having an affair but, by turning to religion, I was soon able to come to terms with the whole thing.
I converted to Islam.
We're stoning her in the morning! :D

Who has Jurisdiction?

Camp Shelby is a Nat'l Guard training post but they are sending people overseas... Should she be in a federal lockup? Shooting an AD military is a federal crime as I am sure a State one. Will the new governor of MS pardon her?

He was carried home by his wife after the examination??
Wonder if it went like this:
"Oh you poor thing, let me take you home and fix you a nice
bubblebath"...

Wow. I lock my guns up to keep them out of the kids hands......hmmmm. now that I think of it, that "if you leave the seat up and your dirty socks about again i'll kill you" might not be retorical.

Affairs are not worth physical violence. Some people take extra marital sexual relations too seriously. They happen all the time and most marriages with have them at some point, whether the other partner knows about it or not.

There is no reason for physical harm by either party in any relationship. When upset by the actions of another, either get over it or get out of the relationship.

People are idiots.

Instead of legal fees, I wonder how much less she'd have had to spend on a U-haul to just split if the guy really was messin' around on her.

I know a guy whose girlfriend's parents were a plumber and a female cop.
The dad was a narcissistic lizard who was open about a relationship he was having with another woman. One week, he was leaving his wife. The next week, he'd tell her he was breaking it off with the other squeeze. Went on for years.

The last time, he called the other woman in front of his wife and said he was staying with his wife. After much boohooin' over the phone, she asked to see him one more time. He told his wife he would go see her because he "owed her that."(?) Wife says, "OK".(? again)

His wife goes to his office, he's there with his other chick and informs his wife that the deal's off, he's not going to break it off with the other woman.

His wife drew her duty weapon, shot at the other woman, missed her, then fired the next shot into her own head.

I don't get it, why shoot someone when you can just improve your life by brooming the culprit from your world by leaving?

He knew she shot him and still went home with her? He is a very forgiving and foolish man.

well I know one post will buy it for that copyright thing. I'd suggest editing the article out and leaving the link which is fair use.

that aside, things like this really make me value my side arms and CCW.
folks with these warped thought processes are far more abundant than we may know and we pass by them every day.

Wow. Just wow. If I ever thought I have done some stupids things... Now I don't feel so bad at all.
