I have had iPhones forever, my last phone that wasn't was a blackberry, so it's been awhile. My son upgraded his phone yesterday and I was with him in the Verizon store and saw a Samsung that folds into a large screen, as much as I use my phone for internet and video, it seems like a neat feature. Has anyone made a switch from Apple to Google based devices and if so how painful was it?

Tried it and could not adapt. Give it a try if you don't like it you can go back….it just was too hard to learn the capabilities.

Ruthie and I are long time satisfied Android users. She has the Galaxy Z Flip and the split screen is seamless.

My oldest grandson has a recent iPhone.

The phones are virtually interchangeable and are testament to modern technology.

We all win.

Did you lose any capabilities as far as FaceTime etc? I do FaceTime my kids when I am traveling. I think that may be the only thing I miss.

From Apple:

"FaceTime is not natively available on Android devices, but Android users can join FaceTime calls initiated by iPhone, iPad, or Mac users through a web browser. To do this, they need to open a supported browser (like Google Chrome) and enter the link shared by the Apple user. However, Android users cannot initiate FaceTime calls themselves. For those looking for alternatives, there are several video calling apps available for Android that can be used instead of FaceTime."

I always had Galaxy phones. It seems like they all would die within a couple years. Last one cost almost $1500, just over a year later there was an upgrade that bricked my $1500 phone, the only thing I could use it for was calls. No internet access unless I was on a network. No cell data at all. Tried customer service and they really weren't interested in helping, the only thing they offered was $200 off a new $1500 dollar phone.

Switched to an I-phone 2.5 years ago and have had no issues whatsoever. Far superior product.

It was a project though getting everything from android to Apple though!

I'll never give Samsung another dime of my money.
