What's your daily driver?

I don't work anymore so I don't drive to work. Amazing how few miles I rack up on my cars.

How true. My '05 Mercury Mariner just turned 14,000, and my '10 Lincoln MKZ has a whopping 800 miles. What's the old song, "Don't Get Around Much Anymore"?

What I drive to work each day is also what I drive home from work each day. And everywhere else. We have 2002 GMC Envoy that is in very nice shape and a pleasure to drive. Not the best gas millage but we got a great deal on it. And, it has room for lots of guns in back.

My take-home work rig is an 09 Tahoe with tint so dark I have to roll down the windows to change lanes. You guys pay for the gas for that one.

My at home ride is this 2010 Prius. I love this little car. I have two kids in college - one is 650 miles north, the other is 250 miles south. I average about 48 miles per gallon, but on my most recent trip south I was living right and got 58.7. At the time gas was 2.97 a gallon so that trip cost me a whopping 12 bucks.

And a 2000 Dodge Durango 4x4 for bad weather duty.

And these for fair weather fun...

The '75 Road Runner I purchased new. Now has 139 K. Rebuilt the engine and trans back in 97. 360 4 barrel, dual exhaust, factory air, tinted glass, 727 trans and 3.55 Sure Grip rear.

And my trusty 05 Road King :D

The Impala replaces the 1985 El Camino that he's had for the past few years. I'm not sure what we're gonna do with it.

Keep it as a beater work vehicle, assuming you ever do anything requiring a pickup bed. Insurance and tags can't be that much.

Retired, don't have to drive to work but my main driver is a 1987 stock Bronco II nearly mint with 132,000 miles. 17-19 mpg, no oil use and totally dependable.

2005 Mercury Mountaineer - 114,000+ great vehicle. Too bad Ford decided to end the line but it is understood why they did what they did.

BMW R1200GS unless I take my son somewhere, then it's a well cared for 2001 Lexus ES300. Love the bike and the car.

Lexus has been flawless. I can't justify spending 40grand on a new one, because this one is still great. Oil, gas, oil, gas, oil, gas, tires, oil, gas... I do all of the prescribed maintenance on schedule, no exceptions.

Here's my '97 Jeep TJ. Had it since new and has 150+K miles on it. Been fooling around with it for years. Ummm. . . the front axle is still original -- kind-of. 4.56 gears and Truetrac diffs front and in the rear Ford 8.8. T-case is a JBConversions with heavy duty gears and chain. It has the optional V-8 -- 5.7 Hemi and 545RFE 5 speed auto. Optional right out of a '04 Dodge Ram 250. Gets 17 - 18 mpg and does 0 to 60 really quick! Oh, it is also now a beautiful Ford Windvail Blue.

You wouldn't believe the pile of rocks I drove it through a couple of weekends ago back in the old iron mines outside of town.

sle

shoe leather express

except it's probably vibram soles nowadays.....

yep....wife and i both walk to work together and
back home for lunch and then back to work

it is about a mile each way

2 toyotas sit in the driveway all week
(probably should get rid of one)

we used to drive both cars and one day it
dawned on us that we were more pissed looking
for parking, shoveling snow and all that stuff
when we could just as easily be walking

it is easier to buy shoes than it is to buy gas

btw, some very nice rigs pictured in this thread

2001 Mercury Grand Marquis LS with 109,000 miles. Gas mileage isn't so great, the 3.55 rear doesn't help. But it's comfortable, reliable and I can peel out at will, the 3.55 rear helps a lot. I finally have the money to buy a new car but I don't want to get rid of my big Merc. Decisions, decisions...

2007 F-350 6.0L Turbodiesel Dually is my daily driver.

My daughter has a Chrome Yellow 2006 Mustang GT with a bunch of go-fast suspension work and stuff. It is her garage queen, but I drive it about once a week in the summer. We call it the Blue-Light Special 'cause it seems to attract them for some reason...

2002 Dodge mini-van. I'm old and stiff and it is easy to get in and out. I also have a 2008 GMC 4X4.
