I've wanted a 4" model 29 for quite some time but only if it's got recessed chambers. But they can't come into Ca. so they are very elusive. Finally one shows up about an hour away. It looks great in pics. It cost $675. Someone previously rounded the outside corners of the rear sight but that looks well done and symetrical to me. I have a pair of Kurac cocabolo's (sic)for it. I go pay for it friday then wait ten grueling days to "cool off" before I can bring it home.

Congrats on finding a great gun! I know you'll enjoy it.

As for that 10 day "cooling off" period, I'm afraid I'd be hot as a firecracker after 10 days!

Nice, very nice. The Kurac's will look great on that blued Smith. Congrats.

Congrats Wyatt -
Saw that one on CalGuns, after you beat me to it. Can't wait for the pics w/ the Kurac grips.

Nice gun! My question is why does the "GREAT" State of CA think that a P&R 6 shot .44 mag is a threat to their Social utopia.

Congratulations, well done.

I think that a 4" S&W 44 MAG, is one of the best, if not THE BEST S&W Revolver for a person to have.

IF I could have only one S&W Revolver, it would be a 4" S&W 44 Mag.

That's exactly what I was wondering.

CA state law mandates a "not unsafe" new handgun list, involving an expensive certification process. If it's new and not on the list, it can't be sold. Also, if it's any handgun less than 50 years old, it can only be sold via a private party transfer or out of state - 30 year old 29-2, 49 year old 17-2, it doesn't matter.

A nice place to visit (some parts of it, anyhow), but you don't want to live there. :(

Thanks for the update. We have plenty of room up here in Maine we will take all gun owner refugees. LOL

he beat me as well. dont feel bad.

theres a clean 4 inch 29-3 at a shop in Cupertino for sale. asking $1299
I saw the ad right when it went up but didn't write the seller until two days later. Nobody seemed interested in the fine guns he was selling. This one was priced at $750 but I just asked what his lowest price would be, rather than be insulting with a too low number. I'm now surprised it slipped under the radar. Maybe his original photo of the gun which was washed out with light threw people off. Seller was very gracious and offered to meet half way, too.

@Wyatt Burp...Greeceafornia...lol...say hello to my uncle in Westminster...he doesn't like the gnats here...

Very nice find for you. And a reasonable price, in this day.

Hope it is as accurate and satisfying to own and shoot as it is good looking!

Regards,

Dyson

Nice piece!, I just found one at a local gun show on Sunday but it was not in as nice of condition as yours. The dealer was asking $995 and he wouldn't come off the price. One day I will find one in my price range. I love those 4" guns!
