Well from my earlier post on "4506 price check" I'll continue here with a new post on a new to Me 4506-1 Thanks to those who helped me know I wasn't going off the cliff.. As I stated the other day I bought a 5906 and found it really was the "Wonder Nine". The trigger and accuracy were amazing. So I wanted it's big brother the 4506 too since I prefer .45's anyway. So off to the local Gun Show today. I wasn't even sure there would be one there today. Anyway I traded my S&W M&P.45 polymer today for a 4506-1. Anyway I am more than pleased with my find. This thing is immaculate. I really do think it's been fired very little if at all. The guy I bought it from told me he knew the original owner and he told him he hadn't shot it. (That was after the sale so he had no reason to lie) Check out the pics and make your own assessment. But for $550 I think I did OK. Now to the range to check out how the "Best .45 auto in the world shoots. (per Heekma) I am now officially an No IL and non polymer gun owner. All steel and wood:D

Welcome to the 4506 brotherhood. You can't help but smile when you pull the trigger.

Very nice. Now you need ammo. Lots and lots of ammo!

4506

Very Nice 4506. You will not be disappointed in it, they are great shooters.

Good deal. If you ever need parts for it call S&W...recoil springs, mags, etc.

1-800-331-0852 then press 1 and then 2904#. Someone will answer in parts.

Welcome to the sickness...this is how it starts. You'll tell yourself you can stop whenever you want.......that "you only need one".....yeah, that's how it started for me. Before you know it, you'll have another "because I wanted one with adjustable sights" or "but this one has forged parts". Then you'll wonder "What does the 10mm version feel like?". Then it'll be "Hmmmm, didnt they make this with a frame mounted de-cocker?". That leads into "One of those 4505s in blued carbon steel would be sweet!"......Trust me....I started the same way you're starting....there is no cure...it is hopeless.....

4506517..I don't know.. I only own a 59, a 5906 & now a 4506 in S&W. But I have 11 P&R pre 1982 S&W revolvers and counting. But these early auto's are a different breed than the new poly guns. I really like the weight and feel of these earlier auto loaders. So maybe your right.

AAAh but what a sickness, eh?? :D
I wouldn't trade or sell off my 4506,4053,3913 for anything.

Now I just need to find a 645. And a 39 and a 659, a 745 a 4566 and a .45 Chief's Special..and so on. I have a 39 NIB waiting in a retiree friend's safe. He said whenever I want it let him know. He is the same guy who sold me the Nickel NIB 59. So that one I already have squared away.

See? LOL.....I told ya! You can find a million reasons to buy another and another and another.....

I love the 3rd gens but haven't ventured into the 2nd gens. Make no mistake they are high quality guns and I can totally understand the drive "to collect them all"....

Good score on the 4506, that thing is in great shape and you got a good price. Check GB and look to see what people are asking and getting for ones in poor condition.

That 4506 will quickly become your favorite.

When you get to 640 there won't be any difference...perhaps even 6400. Fine pistols, make no mistake. See that avatar?:)
