Going through my drawers I found an old eyeglass case. Inside were some old bullets I had since the 80s. Forgot all about them and I don't think I'll shoot 'em.

Row 1 - 22s
Row 2 - 25s
Row 3 - 380s
Row 4 - 9mm, 38 super, 38 special, 30 carbine

I'll bet that they all would shoot just fine. I've fired military surplus ammo that was many decades older than your ammo, and it all went "BANG".

As long as ammunition is stored in an environment that people are comfortable in, with no extended extremes in temperature or humidity... it will last a very long time.

If they all date from the 80s, that is practically new! There is no collector value, so not worth saving. Shoot them or dissemble them. In doing chronograph testing, I have shot ammo that was 100 years old and have never had a dud.

Not just bullets, whole cartridges!

I've got some boxes of S&W 357 Mag from the '70s that I'll never shoot today. They don't make that stuff anymore!

unlike milk powder and primers don't spoil...and it doesn't have any need to be stored in climate controlled conditions either

I often buy military surplus ammo in .45acp. Some of it is from WWII and it works fine. Modern ammo does not go bad when even half way kept care of.
