Zombie Ammo by Hornaday

It would be bad enough having to explain to a jury why I needed to load my gun with magnum, hollow point (dumdum) ammo. I don't want the prosecutor showing them a box of "Zombie Killers" ! Might give them the wrong ideas.

I agree.

IMHO the anti-gun folks already think gun owners shoot every living thing that moves out there anyway what are they going to think then when they think we gun people shoot things that are already dead. Too funny.

I know who cares what the anti-gun people think anyway right, but it never helps to give them ammo ( play on words ) to use against us every time anti-gun legislation of any kind comes up. Just look at some of the ridiculous gun laws some states already have and you know gun owners didn't pass these laws.

Sorry for taking this off topic and I guess " what ever floats your boat " on the packaging of this ammo. Otherwise good ammo.

I could see a prosecuting attorney parading around a court room with a box of that that someone used in a shooting.

I'm a fan of zombie movies, and I love "The Walking Dead." But I'm also a lawyer, and while I see the humor in "zombie ammo," I think it's a bad idea for the same reason I think grips with skulls or grim reapers are a bad idea. If you have to use your gun to defend yourself, and God forbid end up prosecuted or sued, there is a good chance the jury will see that imagery and it won't be helpful to your case. Just my opinion.

You hit that one dead center (from a brother lawyer).

But, if there ain't no Zombies, why did the US GOVERNMENT spend hundreds of millions of borrowed dollars to run a counter Zombie Drill?

Who wants to know exactly what the .gov is NOT telling us!

I got my Anti-Zombie badge at Ft Polk -- did you get yours??

Joint Readiness Training Center "Forging the Warrior Spirit"

On a sultry Louisiana night in the swamp country, you will, in fact, see zombies-- and some zomboids.

I suspect we have a case of Mint Julip Overload.

Who is a light drinker for medicinal purposes.

When we first got the Zombie ammo at the store, I thought
what the ? / you've got to be kidding me / who would buy this stuff ?
It's just Critical Defense with a green eraser rather than
a red eraser ,, brass case rather than nickel.
But, it's a couple bucks cheaper a box and it has been selling like Hot Cakes.
Guess I know nothing about marketing and Hornady does..

Now, explain to me WHY someone would pay $80 for a bleeding
zombie target. I just Don't understand ?

I have lost some respect for Hornady...

Hell, I think it's a great marketing ideal, trust me there's a lot of brain dead people walking around out there. Not to forget all the Mall Ninjas.

I reload everything but might just have to git me some them Zombie shooters.

Hornady didn't make any Zombie Max in 10mm...so I had to take matters in my own hands!

I bet the lawyers would have a field day with the supposed warning "For use on Zombies only" thats printed on the box. That said, i might pick some up...

Sorry but I haven't used it or never will but have used the Hornady Critical Defense and I have no complaints on that ammo but my gun prefers a different brand better.

IMHO it looks just like a gimmick for Hornady to sell more ammo under a differnt label. Pretty much the same thing as Critical Defense in a scary box. I am not crazy about the image this type of Zombie ammo packaging makes responsible gun owners look either. Buy hey that is just me.

It's not just you, you are dead on IMO. I don't pretend/play with deadly weapons and I'm not 12...I can't see the Zombie load because it discredits gun owners and makes us look juvenile, JMO.

Hornady dropped a couple notches on the respect scale when they introduced Zombie Max ammo. Profits are the name of the game. As a responsible gun owner and protection permit holder I will never purchase a single round of that stupid cartoon ammo. Heaven forbid I'd need to defend myself from some ethnic group other than the "undead" while my gun was loaded with ammo warning you not to use it on any live creature.

Super secret spec ops Ninja products.

I picked some up on Monday to try this weekend. Honady has a great sense of humor! How many "Spec ops super secret Ninja" products are there out there for the lawyers to get hold of?

Lighten up guys!

No harm, no foul................if it goes bang and has "cool" points for someone, so be it. I'll probably avoid it unless it is cheaper to obtain. Shoot whatever you choose safely and in good health.

Hornady will now be a household name.
It will go into the collectable halls of legendary fame alongside "Black Talon" and "Super Vel"

A friend of mine and former instructor for our department and I talked alot of this over because he refuses to sell the ammo. As he said, it was taking a real gun and making it into a toy, like you're in a video game or movie instead of a gun that you could possibly be using to defend your life by taking anothers. Hornady will make money on this but they have also opened themselves up as a target to lawyers and anti-gun fanatics.

I think that since Rick Grimes carries a .357 revolver (albeit a Colt) they could at least oblige us wheel gun guys and make a zombie load for us. We should have a chance against walkers too right?

No need for special "zombie" ammo in .357 mag it already has plenty stopping power.
