Which one to get? And why? Really struggling on this as the Tru Glo 30 mm that I have now sucks big time (dot is more of a blurry star) and don't want to end up with the same problem. i want crisp dot, brightness, clear view, battery life and overall quality for price.

Primary Arms Micro red dot $80
Bushnell TRS-25 $85
Vism Micro Green Dot $60

Thanks!

I have a TRS-25 and like it. Its small works great, batteries are easy to get.

+2 on the TRS-25. I've had two of the above. But the Bushnell is the cats meow!

Bushnell TRS-25 for the win with...
  • A good brightness on 7 (any higher it is very bright)
  • 4 to 6 level was good also! just depends on outdoor conditions
  • Has a 3moa dot
  • built like a tank
  • Waterproof to 10'

The other 2 haven't used however I had purchased one that looked exactly like the Primary Arms Micro red dot(off of E-bay) and at setting 11 it was just not bright enough to see well in broad daylight, did Zero in well though and with a quick release I would not have changed it except for the reasons above (it had a 1moa too)

Down side of the Bushnell TRS-25....

  • Has a bluish green tinge when you look threw it(still not to bad though)
  • The device that makes the red dot takes up a little of the viewing space in the 5 o'clock position
  • Brightness level knob turns hard

Still not bad for $80 to $100 of course you could go for the Micro Aimpoint for $588.00
but as a rule I try not to put items that cost more than the rifle....:D

One Last note about height if you are going to use iron sights your going to want a riser... I went with an absloute co-whitness(I'm using magpul gen 2 flip ups) with a 3/4 or .83 riser for $12.95

Thanks guys! I think I am going with the Bushnell for sure. That was the way I was leaning, but there is something I liked about the PA that was clouding my decision.

I like the PA micro with a removable base. There are a ton of mounting options out there to get you the perfect co-witness. I went with the ADM mount because it's a true QD, it will return to zero every time, and it looks better than most IMO.

The TRS 25 is a nice little budget dot too, I just prefer the mounting options of the PA micro. Performance wise they are very close. Does anyone know the battery life on a TRS25? Bushnell doesn't even list it.

A long time! I've used mine on countless guns and shoot with it weekly. Ive left it on and pulled it out a week later still as bright as ever. I've had over a year and batteries still run strong. plus I leave it on the whole time Im out shooting (other guns)

Vism Micro Green Dot

Anyone with any experience with these?

I have used both the PA MicroDot and TRS-25. For all practical purposes there is near zero difference. They both have a 3MOA dot and cheap tinted lens coating. The PA has a slightly smaller tube. In use you probably would not know the difference. Same as GopherSlayer, I chose the PA because I liked the way the removable base is designed to accept a riser with 4 screws in the bottom of the scope just like Aimpoint. Very clean look and lots of options. Primary Arms also sells the TRS-25. I have found them to be really good folks to do business with. Never heard of the Vism you mentioned. It may be on par with the others but if it were me I would skip it and choose between the PA and TRS which both have good reputations. Here's some evidence of how the PA holds up to abuse. I have two PA MicroDot.
