after a few rounds through your shield , what is your go to magazine ( flush or extended ) and why ?

I have large hands but prefer the flush 7 round magazine. This is just based on the feel of the Shield in hand. After handling one at the NRA convention I ordered one which I have yet to receive, hopefully next week. I did order 3 additional 7 round mags for it.

I prefer the extended magazine. I like the full grip and find it more controllable / comfortable to shoot. But I will most likely carry it with the short mag.

Just got back from shooting my shield today and what a shooter. I really didn't feel a difference in the mag size while I was shooting. Guess I would use the extended mag simply for the extra round.

I prefer the extended mag. My pinkie hangs off the 7 round mag and causes me to re-grip after every shot.

Extended mag for me...I like the way the grip feels with it, and I don't with the 7 round mag. I bought a second Shield for my wife, so she won't take mine away, and so I can have her 8 round mag and give her my 7 round mag.

I prefer the extended myself. After shooting 150 rounds through mine today, I found I had some issues with the gun moving more in my hand during recoil with the shorter mag than the extended one. So I will be ordering more of the extended ones.

Smith & Wesson Shield

I just got mine today. I will shoot it tomorrow but at this point in time I believe the smaller magazine will be better for being concealable. I have a Ruger LC9 and a Taurus slim in 9 MM that I will be getting rid of, if the S & W is as good as everybody says that it is.

I like the extended mag for my pinky finger. I carry a 1911 concealed, so I imagine that I'll make the Shield with the extended mag work.

+1 ...although I can get about 2.5 fingers on the flush grip, which is enough
