I have found a 610. It's pre-owned but never shot except from the factory. Asking price is $799. I believe it is a -5. From what I've read on the forum that would be a good price. Thanks for your time . Jim
It is a six or six and a half inch barrel.

Im thinking $799 is about $200 too much... but there are others that may buy it at that price. I bought my 610 in 5" a few months ago for $500

I would say that's the max price to pay and it had really better be perfect.

You sure won't find MANY for $500, at least without waiting a looong time and getting lucky! While I agree that $799 seems like a lot, the reality is, that is what they seem to routinely sell for (or a lot more for prelocks in decent condition), so if the OP wants it now and can live with the lock, he probably isn't going to do a lot better.

I didn't know there was a 610-5. Did S&W reintroduce the 610 again? I guess I am just behind the times (as usual) :o. If it was not for the IL, MIM, floating firing pin, etc. then $799 OTD might be a fair price. It just goes to show, I don't know much about the new S&W's, or the old ones:confused:. Offer $600.

Any 610 in decent shape with fetch 1k on gunbroker, buy it and shoot it.

I've been chasing a pre-lock 610 for a coupla weeks. They're out there, but, IMHO, a 610 in hand is worth more than any 3 or 4 on the auction sites! I watched two sell for right at $1,100 in the past week. If you can live with the lock, and I'm kinda neutral on that issue, although I only have one Smith with da lock, it would be a "go"!

NIB SOLD FOR 750. EXC 625. V.G 500.

Update . I went ahead and put it in layaway. It is a -3 model and it has the robars Np3 finish on it. I know the robars finish is expensive but I don't know if it adds any value or not. I have a cell phone picture and will try to post it later. Thanks Jim

Every 610 I see has gone for 800+ on line, I have never seen one on the local market. If you can see past the lock then get it, If not then hold out and get what you want when the gun presents itself. If your not in a hurry then you may want to keep searching but a bird in the hand....

610-3 came out in 2002 and discontinued in 2005. They have been out of production. I've been looking on Gunbroker for a long time. The biding has been going up to $1100-$1200. The people asking 1300-1600 are getting any bids. Even the 610-3 trigger locks are going for close to that. One just sold on GunsAmerica for $995.00 and there were back up bidders waiting.

Mistake: The 1300-1600 bids AREN'T getting any bids.
