No ......... not so much illegal as "not yet approved".
What they do is this.........
They say "we don't want your guns ....... we just want you to have safe guns" so you don't hurt yourself or others with them.
Heck .... nobody can argue against not allowing unsafe firearms to be sold here in River City!!
Then they pass laws that say only guns that can pass an imposed safety inspection can be sold, lent, given, willed, used, possessed, bought, sold and etc. in the lovely community of River City.
They establish reasonable criteria for the inspections and it all looks pretty good to everyone ....... that isn't paying attention to this insidious tactic.
Because they only fund the verification department so a guy named Bob has the resources to verify the testing for one gun every other week between the hours of 1 and 3 PM.
But, once a gun is tested, passes and Bob verifies it, it does get on the roster of approved guns that are allowed to be sold, well ........ 'maybe' ...... eventually.
But .... to make double dog sure that the gun makers don't go slackin on the safety features, the approval for each gun (and it's placement on the roster) has an expiration, and the testing has to start all over again, which further strains the resources that Bob has to do the verifying, which in turn creates an even larger backlog .... Oh Dear!!
A scenario very much like this is now playing out in the Peoples Rebublik of Kalifornia ........ and you can bet it's coming soon to a state near you ............
And all while they keep us busy looking in the direction of them showing up at our doors and taking our guns ....... after deleting the second.
They don't need to take our guns, and they don't need to smash the second ......... the just need (and are) "helping us" by making guns safer for us.
They don't even have to ban something because it's not safe.
Just make it not available on the roster until it's tested ........ then don't ever get around to verifying it, so you can't lend, give, will, borrow, use, posses, buy, sell ........... and when you pass away, so does your gun ............ or it makes you heirs a bunch of outlaws.
And after a while (as Bob gets old, slow and feeble, and we get more safety conscious) only a weak assed .22 short, single shot, bolt action, 15 lb gun with roll bars, safety screens, a first aid kit ...... and safety interlocks that use a GPS so that it will only shoot in areas with a population density of less than the Antarctic, will get tested, verified and be available on the roster of approved guns for sale ........ and only after 5 years in testing (if ever) whilst carrying a $4K state firearm safety tax (to pay for the testing verification don'tcha know).
You can use the internet to see what guns are and (by omission) are not on the California roster, as well as the expiration date for the ones that are on it.
The make and models of guns not on it does not make any sense.
It is just what it is .... a very sneaky way to take guns away from us under the guise of helping us.
Nope ......... no need to infringe on the second here, just going about the government's work of "helping" the people to buy and use safe and sane firearms.
And I'm sure given a little time, even the slow minded lib's will muster enough brain power to come up with other similar and benign looking ways to get past creating an outcry that would be the result of them going about something as blatant as doing away with the second and/or coming to your home to get your guns.
