I shot competitive rifle many years ago. Mags are a wear item. That's why many folks number them, to keep track of issues.
Waiting on my 15-22 MOE to finally ship across Lexington so I can drive down, pick it up, and join in the fun.
I've already got (2) 10 round short & (4) 25 round S&W, 2 of the PT 35 rounders (wish I'd have found these forums before I ordered them...), and >5000 rounds of assorted 22LR waiting but assuming we're talking a reliable, durable 40-50 round double stack available in black put me down for at least 4 to start.
I definitely like the lower profile, more substantial box mag looks of your prototypes.
How many competitions would they last before developing issues?
Mags are disposable. Don't get attached to them. Especially if you do stuff like 3 gun or proper training with them. They'll get worn, they'll get damaged (inserted too hard, stepped on....) they will get debris inside them when they fall onto the ground.
By all means look after them, but if they start giving issues, bin them.
This is one reason why $50 mags suck. I'll still be wanting some of these, but I won't be throwing them on the bricks any time soon
KBK
I have a problem understanding how this happened. 10k through my magazines and not the first sign of wear. Haven't seen any other posts about warped magazine lips, either. We have several dozen 15-22 owners that use my range on a regular basis and I haven't heard any mag lip-related complaints from their either. The only way I can see warping happening is extreme heat (REALLY hot) or chemical softeninTo
Can you post some photos?
What is your experience with the PT magazines? PT sent me one because I was unhappy with another product and it was pretty much a disaster. They just sent me another one to try but weather and scheduling has kept me from the range. When I do get to the range, I'll be posting another in depth evaluation.
See my posts towards the end of this thread:

BTW, congratulations on the new firearm!
Thanks! I can't wait to get my hands on it
I don't have any personal experience w/ the PT clips yet but it sounds like maybe they aren't necessarily all that reliable from some of the comments I've read in this and other threads. Maybe it's just a QA problem and I'll get lucky? I'm also not all that wild about the long AK style banana clip aesthetically but I'd be willing to sacrifice looks for another 10 rounds of rapid fire plinking fun per mag if they are reliable. I am worried that they will present some issues shooting prone or from a bench unless I get a really long bipod, but that's why I got a couple of the 10 round S&W shorties.
All in all a reliable high cap double stack box mag of the style it looks like Doomsday Tactical is working on would be the most preferable solution for me.
Oh and add a +1 vote for available accessory ranger plates w/ integral tactical bottle opener at some point down the road![]()

Update: Implementing the bottle opener into ranger plate. I plan on having a prototype of if next week to see if it will work properly. The only issue I see in designing it into the ranger plate is the wear and tear since the part will be made out of polymer.
Is the bottle opener stuff going to slow things down? I hope not.
Please don't.
I would contract a company to have your company name engraved on a bottle opener and send it out as swag with orders.
